Tony woke up to a blood curling scream. It was childlike and broken, two things which shouldn't ever be together. It slowly turned into sobs as Tony let a suit form around him before he ran toward the med wing, his heavy footsteps echoing through the halls. He knew who it was, of course. Spiderman. Tony didn't even want to think about what the boy could be dreaming of.
He slammed the door open after unlocking it and his eyes drifted toward the figure sprawled out on the bed. The spandex clad body was tangled into the sheets, thin chest heaving up and down and one red clad hand scratching the other aggressively as he sobbed. Tony put his iron hands around the masked face, moving more carefully than he'd ever had before, and his heart ached. It felt weird.
This kid, this kid who was so incredibly much better than Tony, shouldn't have such terrible things to dream about. He knew he put a cold demeanor up around the hero, but deep down, as much as it scared him, he cared. He really fucking cared for this kid he didn't even knew the color hair of. He imagined Spiderman with blonde curls, like the golden retriever he was, but the boy could be bald for all he knew.
Tony shook the thoughts of, focusing on Spiderman's trashing body. "Kid. Kid, stop moving. It's not real." He said, voice steady even though he felt like screaming. The kid seemed to hear him, to his relief, and Tony really, really hoped the nightmare hadn't been about Ironman: the kid would freak.
Spiderman woke up with a jolt, body tense. The mechanical lenses shot open and stared at Tony, before he started sucking in quick breaths. The white eyes shot around the room quickly before looking down at his hands before looking back at Tony again, slumping against the pillows once again. "Hey kid." Tony said, unsure of what to say. He and Spiderman had formed a relationship of fighting and teasing each other; never had they ever talked about emotions or had they seen each other so emotionally vulnerable.
"Hey. Sorry." Spiderman rasped out, his voice raw from the screaming. Tony took note of that quickly. "There's a bathroom through that door, by the way." He said, somewhat awkwardly, pointing an iron finger in the direction of a door (not the one Tony entered through) vaguely. "Do I need access or something?" Spiderman muttered sarcastically, but before Tony could even begin to think about how the hell Spiderman knew about the access thing, the vigilante started getting up with a hiss, one hand shooting toward the wound on his abdomen.
Tony shot out a hand to help support the hero, but Spiderman shook his hand off his shoulder. "Alright, do it yourself Spiderbaby." Tony said, looking at Spiderman struggling with an amused smirk, crossing his metal arms before his chest. Spiderman glared at him. "Lets not forget who put me in this position and then proceeded to kidnap me." He hissed. There was irritation and something that sounded a little too much like hate in Tony's opinion in the boy's voice. Tony winced again. He really hadn't wanted to hurt the kid.
"I gotta say, you got a point, kid. Although I wouldn't say kidnapped-" Tony started, but Spiderman's head shot toward him with a glare, white lenses narrowing. "Alright, maybe I sorta kidnapped you- But with good intentions! Alright kid, I hate to be the party pooper, but I'm gonna go back to bed, so don't die please." Tony attempted to joke, frowning beneath his metallic mask as he watched Spiderman grip the bed once he'd finally managed to stand up. Guilt shot through his heart, and Tony decided he never wanted to feel it again.
"I'll be fine."
And Tony left. He was incredibly curious about the nightmare Spiderman had, but he realized he wasn't in the position to ask Spiderman about it. Not right now.

Peter was incredibly confused by Ironman's behavior, but he felt weirdly safe around the man, considering what happened. His spidersense was calm, calmer than almost anywhere else. The last time it had been this calm was with May..
Anyway. He may be acting kind of cold toward the villain, but he was really just embarrassed. He had been screaming and sobbing when he woke up and he could almost feel the guilt and pity radiating off Ironman. How humiliating is that? He'd been crying in front of the man who had beaten and kidnapped him just hours ago, who also seemed to be weirdly caring. It was odd.
After he'd gotten his water and went number 1, Peter slid back in the bed and didn't even think about ways to escape the next morning. His brain was strangely empty as he pulled the covers up, and it thankfully continued to be empty throughout the rest of the night.

Tony, well, Ironman stood at Spiderman's door at 7:30 AM, a plate full of waffles in his hand as he unlocked the door. It swung open to reveal Spiderman fast asleep, which Tony was thankful for. He'd rather not have an awkward encounter with the kid again. He quickly put the plate down and left the room; Ironman had something to do.
Now he had hoped the Avengers wouldn't show up at all and when they did, he hoped they wouldn't be too mad about Spiderman's disappearance but to his surprise, they didn't even mention their missing team member. They fought him as usual, not a single question about their teammate that Tony had quite literally kidnapped. (For good reasons, but they didn't know that, so why didn't they say something?)
Tony was actually stunned, but he didn't confront them about it. He really hoped they had their reasons, because if they didn't.. Then it probably also meant Spiderman never got treated for his wounds, right?
He shook the thoughts off as he continued to fight the group of heroes. He beat them quite easily, finished what he came for and flew back to the tower. Before he let the suit disengage, he headed toward the medbay where Spiderman lay.
He only found an open door.
The handle was broken and it was hanging off its hinges; it had been broken open with force. As he looked further into the room, he saw what the feared: the bed was empty and a few drops of blood were smeared across the room, probably from where Spiderman had ripped his IV off.
Tony cursed.
