Prologue

                  10 years old

3rd person pov:

Y/n was beyond excited when her family decided to take her shopping for kimonos and a haori. Walking through the streets of Japan, she was fascinated by the bustling crowds and the tempting smells wafting out of the restaurants. The crisp morning air was perfect for exploring, and she bounded ahead of her family with wide eyes and a quick pace. They eventually stumbled upon a beautiful set of kimonos, which Y/n's mother eagerly helped her try on. The moment she slipped it on, she felt as though she had been transported into a dreamland. "Mom can I get this one! It's so pretty!" "Sure y/n it's your birthday after all!" Her mom said.

However, the haori they found for her was a little too big, and so they decided to put it aside and hold onto it until she turned 15, simply because her parents adored it. After the shopping trip, they returned home to celebrate her 10th birthday. The cozy family home was filled with the delightful aroma of homemade stew, delightful rice crackers, and onigiri, rice balls filled with savory fillings that Y/n simply couldn't resist."Itadakimasu!" She savored every bite, taking in the warmth of the fire and laughter that rang through the air.

A little later in the evening, Y/n snuck outside for a moment of fresh air.'ah, the moon is so pretty tonight!' she thought and breathed in the cool  night air. As she strolled around the property, she heard strange noises coming from a small hut a few hundred feet away. Intrigued, she followed the sounds through the underbrush. They sounded like animal cries but she thought it might be something else. Y/n's curiosity got the better of her, and she decided to investigate. The closer she got to the hut, the more she realized the noises weren't coming from animals. Suddenly, she found herself face-to-face with four unfamiliar boys, who looked to be around her age. It was clear they needed help.

Without hesitation, Y/n knew she needed to bring these boys home and seek help from her parents. She introduced them to her family, who were welcoming and kind. "My name is urogi! And this is karaku! Sekido and last and lamest, aizetsu!" The one with the charming bright amber eyes said, pointing to each one. The boys needed a place to stay, and it was decided they would stay with Y/n's family for a couple of years. They all became fast friends, spending their days exploring the surrounding woods and playing games in the yard.

13 years old

In the midst of all this, something unexpected began to happen. As the years passed by, Y/n found herself the object of her friends' affections. It was new territory for her, and she wasn't sure quite how to navigate these conflicting emotions and desires. But before she could truly figure it out, she was shocked to hear screams coming from outside her home one night. Y/n wondered if it had anything to do with the four boys living with her. She quickly sprang into action, eager to find out what was happening and keep everyone safe. Y/n could hardly believe her eyes as she witnessed the scene before her. What she had thought was a stray dog or cat had transformed into a massive and vicious beast right before her very eyes. 'w-what is that?! Is it a stray? A wolf? Mom, dad I need to help them!' She paused her heart pounding in her chest, she watched in utter horror as the creature attacked and killed her parents without mercy. Y/n's eyes widened with terror and shock as she watched on helplessly, not knowing what to do next.

Thinking quickly, she ran back inside the house, screaming for her friends to come to her aid. "Aizetsu! Karaku! Sekido! Urogi! Help!!" Seconds later, they arrived, weapons in hand, just as the beast was about to make its final leap at Y/n. They bravely charged toward the creature, hoping to stop it in its tracks. Unfortunately, the beast managed to scratch Y/n deeply on her face, shoulder, and arm, leaving behind gruesome gashes and bruises. She felt a sharp pain in her head and knew she had to get away. "Y/N!! HIDE WE WILL PROTECT YOU!" All four of them said at once.

As her friends continued to fight the beast, Y/n found a small hiding spot and managed to conceal herself. She could hear the battle raging on but was too petrified to come out of her hiding spot. She sobbed silently, covering her mouth to keep from alerting the demon of her location.

Suddenly, the creature knocked her friends down and injured them badly. It seemed that all hope was lost, and Y/n began to accept the worst as her friends lay there, motionless. 'n-no! aizetsu, karaku,s-sekido, urogi! They look like they are dead!' Through her tears, she watched as the beast slowly approached her hiding spot. Just then, she heard someones voice,"wind breathing sixth form: black smoke storm!" and in a flash, the demon's head was on the floor.

A wave of relief washed over her as her saviour swooped her up into his arms and carried her out of the house. They ran until they reached safety and Y/n finally had the chance to catch her breath. Overcome with emotions, she screamed at her saviour, demanding to know what was going on and where her friends were.

In the heat of the moment, y/n screams out to her rescuer to save her friends, only to discover that they are already dead and beyond saving. "ASSHOLE PUT ME DOWN!!! my friends are still in there!" She said not believing a word. She feels helpless and alone in the face of this grim reality, but her saviour offers her a way out: to run away with him and become a demonslayer as his tsuguko. "MY GOD DO YOU EVER SHUT UP KID?!" Her saviour yells, and continues, "I will offer you a way to get revenge on those disgusting bastards, train under me!" he said sounding pretty angry, y/n still crying. "STOP YOUR FUCKING CRYING! YOU LOOK SO DAMN UGLY WHEN YOU CRY!" She flinches at his tone and insults, but agrees and follows him, leaving her deceased friends behind in the hut. However, things take an unexpected turn when a strange, pale-skinned man with red eyes and black hair appears and offers her presumably dead friends his blood, turning them into demons. All of this unfolds in just a brief span of an hour.
