She stopped him pushing passed her, and whatever angry comment he was about to make was interrupted by Skye speaking.
"But we have to help her, what if she dies?"
At that Lennox's eyes fell on Sasha, knowing what she was about to say would shake the both of them to their cores.
"She's already dead."
"What?" Skye stared.
"Think about it, she got hurt three days ago, the note said in 72 hours one of us was gonna die, this is what it meant. She got pricked on purpose at the house, the poison has been in her for days. There's nothing we can do."
Even though she was right, looking either of them in the eyes in that moment felt like the biggest mistake she could make, so she kept her eyes on Sasha, watching her friend's chest rise and fall with shallow breaths as Caleb looked between them.
"Screw this." He grabbed his phone as Lennox turned to face him.
"What are you doing?" She asked.
"Calling an ambulance."
"Caleb there's no point-"
"That's my sister!"
She went quiet as he stared at her. "I can't just let her die. Even if you can."
"Oh, Caleb,"
She watched him walk into the bathroom, slamming and locking the door behind him as Skye looked to her.
"Do you really think there's nothing we can do?"
Lennox sighed as she watched Sasha. She was an only child, so the feeling of potentially losing a sibling was lost on Lennox. Regardless, she tried putting herself in Caleb's shoes, and after just a few seconds began to feel a kind of pressure on her chest that urged her to decide against her own instincts.
"Alright."
She turned to the bathroom door, knocking on it frantically.
"Go away Lennox!"
"Caleb open the door!"
She kept knocking until he caved, and once the door was unlocked she rushed into the room.
"Don't bother with the ambulance, they won't get here fast enough."
"Don't even Lennox,"
"No I mean lets go! Now!" She held the door open, gesturing towards the front door, and he stared at her for a split second before nodding, ending the phone call and running out with her towards Sasha.
"Caleb put on gloves, whatever you do just keep the blood off of you, I'll get the car."
Lennox was across the living room in seconds, grabbing her keys and a pair of latex gloves from a kitchen cabinet and tossing them to Caleb as Skye's eyes flickered between them.
"What's happening?"
"Help Caleb, we're taking Sasha to the hospital."
