Celebrations were in full swing. Guest began to enter the pub after all they weren't going to give up the opportunity for free drink, this is walford afterall. The pub was perfect covered in white and purple fairly lights and flowers, it was just how linda had imagined it after all she did decorate, shes a bit of a perfectionist.
Before the family entered the pub elaine called over mick, he was slightly worried. " don't look so worried i just wanted to thank you". Explained Elaine. "Why?". Said a confused mick. "For making my baby happy. I don't know how me and linda would have managed without you, ever since my john passed away you have become part of this family and i couldn't image a better more caring and more loving man than you to my marry linda!!" Cried elaine."no matter how long it took, 25 years is a long time" she joke. " aw elaine stop it you'll make me cry, i love L and you. You have been more of a mother to me than any one else and i owe you too much! Smiled mick. " serious thank you linda could not have got through this last year and a half without you and just look at your family now you two and your 4 children. I could burst with pride". "L's been the brave one i could have never got through what see has been through, she just so strong. The way she puts us before herself all the time thats part of why i love and her beautiful eyes and smile, she will always be mine as long as their is breath in our body!". Said mick lovingly. They both hugged. Linda looked over and just smiled. " now i need you to cover for me i have a surprise for linda but i have left it back at my pub so I'm going to sneak off and get it. You need to keep linda busy." Explained elaine. " yeah of course, i can think of at least one thing that would keep her busy for a while." smiled mick " mick" cringed eliane and off she went.
Mick shared at his family she was right he had every thing he could possible wish for that and it was down to the love of his life she pulled through and found her way back to him and gave him the 4 kid they both had always dreamed of. As he walks back over linda calls the whole family over including shirley and buster.
" I just wanted to thank all of you i don't think i could have got through all of this without you lot and all your support" cried a teary linda. " L " smiled mick " you don't have to say this we already know".We love you mum" Explained the kids.
" The thought of upsetting you lot was my worst fear and i did that to you all when i told you about the ra...." she couldn't find the word, she still couldn't bring her self to say it and her mouth went dry. " L you didn't. We just wished that we could have been their for you and supported you" Explained mick " i should have protected you". " Its not your fault" . " It his fault" as the kids joined in. " i don't want to think about him anymore i have all the family here i need i just wanted to show you all that i really appreciate it, love you". " we love you too mum, now lets get back to the party!" They all had a group hug and mick looked lovingly into lindas eye there she was being strong again.
