I woke up to darkness. Now, this is not unusual, since I usually do wake up to darkness, but this darkness was not mine. My alarm blared loudly in my ears, and I quickly hit the snooze button. I put my pillow over my head, to try and get some more sleep, but as soon as my do my cat Cypress started meowing loudly.

"Shush Cy!" I moaned, annoyed at my only company. When the fluffy, gray kitten had appeared in my house, I had immediately picked him up and put him outside. Of course it had started to rain, and his mewling was too much. So after living alone for 6 years, I had a companion. I playfully tossed a pillow across the room to try and quite him.

"Meow!" He looked at me indignantly, and jumped on the bed, nuzzling my face. I petted him, feeling his soft fur.

"What is wrong with you today Cy?" I asked, smiling, and petting him. I looked over at my clock, which read 5:05a.m.. Then suddenly I remember. "Oh my gosh! My flight leaves at 5:30!" I flung the blankets off of me, jumping out of bed and sending Cypress flying into the air. I ran over to my closet, quickly changing into a nice clothes, while Cypress glared at me with a look that said "I told you so." I laughed and grabbed my suitcase, which I had packed the night before. I must admit, it was pretty empty. I ran out the door, about to leave, when I remembered something. "Cypress!" I ran back into the house and grabbed my very annoyed cat. Summoning shadows, I focused hard on the airport. I closed my eyes and when I reopened them, I was in the women's bathroom. Shoving Cypress into his cage, I sprinted out of the bathroom, nearly knocking over a women with a stroller. Running as fast as I could, I threw my ticket at the lady at my gate and hurried to my seat. There was no one next to me, thankfully, so I put Cypress in the seat to the left of me and sat down, breathing deeply. I checked my watch, and it said 5:25. "Perfect." I sighed, glad that I had made it. I closed my eyes, ready to catch up on my sleep. I guess I must have fallen asleep because when I opened my eyes, a flight attendant was standing next to me.

"Miss? Would you like a drink?" She asked, gesturing to the cart in front of her.

"Um, I'll have a water." I replied shyly, quickly sitting up straighter.

"Of course." She said, with one of those fake smiles. She pours water into a small plastic cup and hands it to me.

"Thank you." I reply, taking the cup.

"We will arrive in D.C. in about an hour." She said, and rolled the cart forward. She started talking to the passengers sitting in front of me. I leaned over Cypress and looked out the window, staring at the wispy white clouds that drift lazily in the light blue sky. This was my first time in an airplane, and I was just about ready to be done.

"What do you think Cy? Are you ready for D.C.?" I asked my cat quietly. He purred back contentedly. "Well, at least one of us is ready." I said with a sigh, resting a hand on Cypress' carrier. I closed my eyes and felt myself falling asleep again.

"Excuse me, miss? We have landed." A flight attendant stands next to me, and people are exiting the plane. I grab Cypress and my bag, and follow the flood of people pouring out of the plane. I'm a bit nervous, since there are so many people. If I lose control I could kill all of them. I can't think about that though. I just need to focus on finding the car that Hank said would be waiting for me. I walk through the crowded airport and out the sliding glass doors. I stand on my tiptoes, looking around for a sign, or something that will direct me towards the right car. Finally I see a sign the says Sky Reynolds on it. I walk towards it quickly, and almost crash into the person holding onto the sign. It's a tall, muscular guy wearing a suit and shades.

"Are you Miss Reynolds?" He asked. He had a deep voice, and stared at me, looking a bit annoyed.

"Yes." I said quietly, guessing that he is the person that is here to take me to my new home.

"I'm Agent Jonson. I work for the CIA. I have been instructed to take you to your hotel." He said and I nodded, holding Cypress' carrier close to me. There was a lot of people here. I had to make sure I didn't lose control. I better get used to it.
