"Uh, sorry I'm late sir." I swiftly apologized in a whisper before sinking into my seat.
Great! I overslept! My hair was in a mess, and my shirt was probably on inside out due to the rush. I quickly out a hand on my lips to make sure that there was no dry drool sitting there comfortably.
Mr.Gilbert's disappointed expression peered at me over the rim of his glasses. It made me feel uncomfortable, and I wish he would stop it. I played with a strand of my hair just to distract myself, but that didn't help the situation. The teacher proceeded to analyze me.
"Avery, why were you la-"
Mr.Gilbert's question was shortly cut off by the intrusion of a figure dressed in a burgundy hoodie, and sunglasses covering his eyes. It was Jackson. My whole body released a sigh of relief as the focus had now been taken away from me, and onto someone else.
"I had to walk here because my car crashed." Said Jackson, as if it was something Mr.Gilbert had to accept. His tone wasn't even hinted with guilt.
I stared at the teacher, and then the student, teacher, student. The tension was definitely growing larger by the second. I couldn't see the expression on his face, as the sunglasses concealed his eyes, but his body gave off this just-give-me-detention-I-couldn't-care-less aura. I sensed a bad boy persona in Jackson.
"When will you be taking responsibility, Jackson? I don't want to hear your excuses. I will be giving you detention, along with Avery."
My eyes popped, and my whole prescense tensed. I couldn't move, but the stare of everyone in the class was burning holes in my back, whilst Jackson's aim was on my face.
