"Why the hell not?"

She went quiet as he shrugged.

"Why can't we tell them Lennox? Why not just come clean to the cops, they can go to the house and see for themselves what the hell has been happening, why can't we just be done with it?"

"Why do you think? Do you really think they're gonna believe a bunch of teenagers about a supposedly haunted house in the middle of nowhere? They'll have us all drug tested, they'll pull us out of school, we were the ones who brought her into the hospital do you really think they won't arrest us for involuntary manslaughter? Second degree murder? And God knows what'll happen to the three of us if we don't go back,"

"Oh I don't care, I don't care anymore Lennox!" He almost hit her.

The way he stepped towards her indicated that he was going to. She just looked at him as his eyes welled, and he shook his head.

"What is wrong with you? I just lost my sister. Because of you. Don't you get that? All of this, everything that's happened is because we followed you, and look where it got us. Sasha is dead! And Kaila? We still don't know what happened to her, and you're more worried about protecting the house, protecting yourself and your curiosity to care!"

"That's not true,"

"Yes it is! Tell me you won't go back. Huh? Go ahead, try."

"We have to figure this out Caleb,"

"Jesus Len."

"We have to find out what is happening to us!"

"We don't have to do anything! Not anymore! This has to stop, do you hear me?"

She didn't say anything as he looked her up and down and stepped back. "We should've come clean after we lost Kaila. Do whatever you want, I'm out."

"Caleb,"

"No Lennox, I'm done." He walked out, and when Lennox looked at Skye she saw her friend debating whether or not to leave too.

"Skye?" She watched as Skye turned back to her, shaking her head and stepping back.

"I'm sorry Len." She looked guilty as she left. But Lennox didn't blame her.
