The Mermaid & The Pirate [NaLu FanFic]

Chapter 1- Fateful encounter

~No-one's POV~

At the bottom of the kingdom on the beach lies a single house. Not a very interesting and giant house but a simple, small house. In that house lived a single person, a boy at the age of 18 and his name is Natsu Dragneel. His Adoptive father disappeared 7 years ago so he lives alone. Natsu doesn't believe in fairy tales or mythical beings what so ever but soon he will change his mind.

Natsu Woke up at sunrise and wandered around the house before exiting it and walking along the beach. A figure was laid down half in the sea and half out, natsu spotted the figure and ran up to it. It turned out to be a young blonde haired girl, obviously unconscious.

"Uhm hello?" he said kneeling down and patting her cheek. The girl's face twitched. "you awake?" natsu asked. The girl opened her eyes revealing chocolate brown orbs.

"y-yeah" she replied sitting up. Her bottom half of her body was hidden in the sea water.

"may i ask you're name?" natsu asked her.

"i'm L-Lucy H-Heartphilia" she replied stuttering a little.

"okay i'm Natsu Dragneel and i'm 18 if you're wondering" natsu said with a cheery tone.

"i'm 17" lucy added nodding.

"are you alright anyway, because you were passed out?" natsu asked concerned.

"y-yeah i think so" she responded.

"Hey i gotta go get something from my house, can you stay here?" natsu asked whilst taking off his lucky scarf of which he got from his dad and placing it around her neck.

"what's this for?" lucy asked confused.

"so you won't get cold" natsu replied and gave lucy a toothy grin. This made her blush a little.

So natsu ran back to his house but when he returned lucy was gone and all that was left was natsu's lucky scarf. "Where'de she go?" natsu asked aloud and stared out onto the horizon, confused.

Little did natsu know that the girl he saved was infact a mermaid but not any mermaid she was the princess of the mer-people, and had a wish and that wish was to be free and walk on land with the humans. As lucy swam further into the deep she looked up and saw a faint outline of natsu.

"i'm sorry" she apologized feeling guilty that she left without saying a word. "i'm not supposed to talk to humans" she added and then resumed swimming down to her own underwater kingdom. The kingdom of Atlantis.
