Caleb looked at Lennox, who felt herself tense slightly. Nerves, about whether he'd be angry or not. After a few seconds she looked at him.
"I had to. You protected me, both of you did, even after we fought. And after the way Sasha died...I owed it to you to tell Jay the truth."
She looked at the notepad, but when Caleb gently took her hand she looked back at him as he smiled. She was relieved to know that what she did was appreciated.
"Your dad said that you were dehydrated, exhausted. That you'd been living on caffeine for days now with no sleep. Is that true?" Jay asked in an interrogative tone.
Lennox opened her mouth to speak and then decided against it, giving Skye an accusatory look.
Her friend stepped back with an apologetic look on her face. "I'm sorry Len, I had to, I couldn't lie."
Skye was a worrier, and if it were up to her, Lennox would've had three meals and a full night's sleep instead of coffee and a laptop to keep her company through the nights, so it was obvious that when her father would've called them that Skye would've told him exactly why she might've passed out. But it wasn't her father that she didn't want to deal with; Jay's disappointed look gave her a sense of unease.
"I had to figure out the note, I didn't have time to sleep."
