Jay was on edge. With Sasha dying and Lennox collapsing he had a horrible feeling deep in his gut that he couldn't describe; the only thing he knew was that Lennox was into something dark, way darker than he'd ever seen before. If he was honest with himself, he was scared. It'd been a while since they'd seen each other, but he and Lennox's father had often kept in touch, messaging every now and again to see how things were. He cared about her. She was the frustrating younger sister he'd never had. If anything ever happened to Lennox and Jay couldn't stop it, he'd never forgive himself, that much he knew for sure. And if she was the younger sister, he made sure he was the annoying and protective older brother. He found it strange that he was more comfortable in the hospital with Lennox than he was in his own apartment, let alone being with his girlfriend, so staying with Lennox as long as she was in the hospital seemed like the obvious move, even if it did cause problems with Chelsea.
But when Lennox disappeared from the hospital whilst Jay was taking what he would call a well-deserved nap, he regretted not going for the crappy coffee in the cafeteria. He came out of the room next door, where Dr Rosewood had told him to sleep on the empty bed, and after going to the bathroom he headed back to Lennox's room to check on her. The bed was empty, and the clothes that were in Lennox's bag of personal effects were missing. His eyes darted around the room as he realised she that was probably long gone.
"Crap."
