i could have then told bill i actually already had plans to sit with other friends, even though that was far from true. at that point i'd be happy to get away from tom, i really had no interest in talking to him anyways.

i couldn't shake the fact he had done such things to a girl, been that intimate with them, then move on, doing it 24 more times. however, i didn't even know tom, besides he's a man slut and he's bills brother. and even if i wouldn't ever pursue something romantic with him, i suppose it didn't hurt to hang around him with his other friends.

in the end, i caved in and was now walking with bill to lunch, on a hunt to find his other friends. as we walked through the crowded halls bustled with people, i stayed close to bill in fear of getting lost amongst the crowd of teenagers. at last, we turned the corner, finding tom near the lockers with a girl. my heart was stinging with jealousy as i tried to compose my face, shaking the burning feeling. the girl was leaning against the lockers, tom towering over her, both close and obviously flirting.

after bill and i awkwardly and impatiently waited, tom came up to us with an innocent smile. i huffed silently as we began walking again, my arms crossed tight around my chest.

"i didn't quite catch your name gorgeous, what was it?" tom spoke, bill a couple paces ahead of us, spotting another one of his friends.

i kept my eyes in front of me, despite feeling his gaze burn into the side of my face. i pushed down the small electric shock in my stomach at the nickname.

"sid" i answered stalely, finally locking my eyes with his.

my heart skipped, his eyes dark and curious, looking down at me. "what's with the attitude princess?" he chuckled softly.

i prayed bill would return back with the others, my knees were weak, and my heart beating at an erratic pace. damn these fucking dread heads.

"sorry, i'm not interested" i snapped, smiling sarcastically, looking away again even if my eyes never wanted to leave his.

tom laughed again even though i found nothing about this humorous in the slightest. i couldn't believe he would try charming me. luckily, i wasn't as gullible as he thought. thankfully bill, came to my rescue along with two other boys.

"sid, this is georg and gustav, boys, this is sid" bill chirped with glee, as i shook the bitter feeling tom left me with.

after a small exchange of hi's and hello's we began walking again, this time out the doors to the school. i looked back unsure as to where we were going as the school behind us got smaller.

"are you sure we're allowed to do this?" i chuckled, asking the boys as we came to a small, yet thick patch of trees.

"relax new girl, live a little" bill joked, proceeding into the thicket of trees.

i scoffed at his joke. "live a little". i shrugged, reaching into the depths of my pockets for my flimsy box of cigarettes and my lighter. the click of the lighter got the attention of the group, turning to face me.

"what? i'm living a little" i shrugged, rolling my eyes. i put the flame of the lighter to the butt of the cigarette before taking in a sharp inhale.

"you're right, she is fucking cool" gustav nudged bill's shoulder as we began to walk again. i smiled, satisfied with myself. i could really see myself hanging around these people and i hope they think the same about me.

"you know, i could help with that little attitude of yours" tom began to walk closer to me, talking close to my ear.

it amazed me he was this eager for my attention. "oh yeah?" i questioned, putting the cigarette back to my lips.

"all you need is a good fuck and you'd be right as rain"

my body froze, in fact, i was surprised my legs kept walking because i couldn't feel a single part of my body. i looked down at my feet, feeling my face and ears heat. yet i was determined to not give him the satisfaction he craved.

"what do you say baby?" he grinned.

i looked at him dead in the eyes, showing no emotion on my face. suddenly i exhaled all the smoke in my lungs right in his face, leaving him coughing and swatting the air from the sudden shock.

i snorted a laugh, the others turning around again to see what all the commotion was about.

"the fuck happened?" bill asked, laughing along.

"tell your brother to stop hitting on me" i smiled, patting bill on the shoulder.

the others chuckled at tom, as we all sat down in a secluded shady area. a giant long, which was once a tree, laid across the area. it was so big i had to jump a little to hoist myself up onto the thing. down below was a small running river, with all sorts of rocks around it. i immediately fell in love with the spot, taking in another long draw of the cigarette.

the others sat on either stumps, mossy areas, or smaller logs. i could tell the others had been here numerous times by the footprints in the flattened moist dirt. tom sat on the same log as me, not having to jump up as i did. i rolled my eyes, the others carried away when georg pulled out his own pack of cigarettes.

i sighed in defeat, handing tom my half burnt cigarette. he smiled shyly to which i couldn't help but return. he may have had a bad past and still, a giant red flag, but as they say; if you can't beat them, join them.
