The bar was noisy. Speakers blared rock n roll music so loud I could've sworn the walls were vibrating. I looked down at my jack and coke and then at my outfit. It was a flirty sage green dress with a pink bridesmaid sash to top it off. I sighed loudly and stirred my drink mindlessly. The bartender smiled at me and meandered her way over after serving a grumpy biker. "You looking to close your tab? You look like you wanna leave miss thing." She joked, passing me a glass of water. "One water, on the rocks." I laughed at her comment and gladly took a sip. "I was looking for the bride, but it seems she has disappeared into the middle of the dance circle." I rolled my eyes after catching her drop it. The crowd cheered loudly and I turned my head back to the bartender. "It's actually looking like I'll be here a while so leave that tab open." I held my forehead in my hands and the bartender laughed. "Let me know if you want another drink." She said, patting my forearm. I smiled and nodded.
I sipped mindlessly on my drink and was startled when a curly haired man with a mullet plopped down beside me. "Sorry about that mama. Didn't mean to startle you." He said, he hiccuped between his words. "I couldn't help but see you looking lonely and I had to stop by and pay you a visit. I'm Josh." His hazel eyes were lidded, but pretty. I laughed a little at his comment. "It does get lonely when your fellow bridesmaids and bride are out dancing in the circle." I said, and sipped my jack and coke. "Why don't you dance? I bet you could bust down some moves." He said and shimmied his shoulders. I threw my head back and laughed. His soft hand took mine and led me off the stool and my converse clad feet gently hit the ground. "Oh god you're going to embarrass me." I giggled as he led me through the crowd. He turned to look at me and flashed a pearly white smile that I could see even through the darkness and flashing lights.
We got to the dance floor and he grabbed both my hands and shimmied us to the music. I laughed loudly with him as he spun me into him while Boot Scootin' Boogie played. He swayed me in his arms. I was firmly pressed against his toned body and when I looked up, I could see what seemed like his friends. They cheered and gave him thumbs up from across the room. "That's Jake and Sam. I wonder where Danny went." He said. I nodded and then was wildly spun out, my dress twirling beautifully around my legs. I giggled as he pulled me back in. I placed my hands on his shoulders and he laid his on my waist. "Now that I think about it, I don't wanna know where Danny is. He might steal you from me." He said with a smirk. I laughed at his comment and shook my head. "You gonna introduce me to your friends?" I asked him before he dipped me down. I smiled brightly and he lifted me back up, so close we nearly kissed. "I suppose I will, after this." He picked me up and spun me eliciting a childlike laugh from me. He smiled again and then held my hands while he led me over to Sam and Jake.
"Josh you finally found a pretty girl!" The long haired boy said. I looked back at Josh and gave him an inquisitive face. "We're twins." He clarified. I nodded and smiled back at him. "That one is Jake, and this guy here is my little brother Sammy boy." He said, smacking his shoulder. Sammy rolled his eyes and shoved Josh's hand off. "What does a pretty girl like you drink?" Jake asked and winked. I laughed and looked back at the bar that was sitting at, remembering my drink. As I looked over, I caught the eyes of a beautiful man. His curly brown hair fell beautifully over his face. His eyes met mine and he smiled a beautiful smile. I was shaken from my trance when Jake nudged my arm. "I got you a cute like cocktail seen as you never answered me." He said and smirked at me. I shook my head to "shake" the thoughts away and then I smiled at Jake. I nodded a thank you and then peered around the group to see what Josh was up to. I sipped my strawberry daiquiri and then looked back over at the mystery man to see he had disappeared. I pouted a little and then joined Sam and Jake in conversation.
After laughing over stories of them and their band for a while, I decided to go check myself out in the bathroom. I'd had a couple of drinks and wanted to make sure I looked presentable after laughing so hard I'd cried. I meandered my way through the crowd and couldn't help but feel eyes on me the whole time. I shook it off and continued through the dancing people. I was grabbed by a mystery hand and gasped. I looked over to see the bride, completely wasted. "Are you ready to go? We've got a cab." She slurred. I sighed and then pondered for a second, remembering the new friends I had made. "I'm actually going to stay. I think I found that plus one I marked on the invite." I said, winking at her. She squealed excitedly and kissed my cheek. "You brought condoms didn't you?" She asked. I laughed and rolled my eyes. "You better not miss your cab dumbnut." I said, shaking my head. She giggled drunkenly and then made her way back through the crowd. I turned and finished making my way to the bathroom.
