Chapter 2:

"so who's first?'

I stared at the boy, shocked.

But then things began to sink in and I came to realise that it would be easier to get things over with, right?

"Well... I - uh - I was here first so I-"

"No you can't" the blonde boy shouted, cutting me off from what I was saying "I mean not like.. now" he murmured, awkwardly shuffling on his feet.

"Relax" the black haired one scoffed "I didn't mean who would jump first.. obviously there's some sort of reason we're all here on the same night for the same thing, call it... fate, if you will"

At that the beanie boy scoffed "Yeah sure..."

"At any rate" The black haired boy continued, completely ignoring the weird looks we were all giving him "By 'who's going first', I meant who's going to tell first, you know we all have our different reasons for being here tonight"

Silence.

"No? Fine i'll start, my name is Michael Clifford, and I hate everyone. I came here to die tonight because what is the point in living, all of us are so meaningless in this fucked up world, so why bother? Everyone that you will ever meet is a selfish asshole and truthfully i'm bored of it all"

I didn't know what to say, how could I respond to him? I wasn't sure, so I kept quiet.

"Uh - okay, well i'm Luke" The blonde spoke up "Luke Hemmings, and i'm here because I came out as ur... um.. as g-gay.. and.. well my parents didn't like it, they hate me now and my friends all found it weird and thought i'd make a move on them and.. well now I have no one left"

"Calum Hood" the beanie boy spoke up suddenly "I don't like myself, and I deserve to die, it's stupid because I don't have anyone insulting me or pushing me away... I just don't like myself"

Three pairs of eyes turned to me, each waiting for me to confess.

"I'm Ashton Irwin"

A few moments passed and they all still stared at me.

"Yeah.. AND" Michael prompted me, rolling his eyes.

I kept a straight face, glaring back into his eyes, my lips sealed shut.

"C'mon Ashton, we told you" Calum added.

"Ashton?" Luke asked.

All at once they all began begging and pestering and complaining at me, their eyes never leaving mine, their shouts growing louder and louder.

"BOTH OF MY PARENTS DIED" I screamed out at the top of my lungs, stunning them all into silence, my breathing heavy as I calmed myself down.

"Ding ding ding we have a winner" Michael teased.

"What the fûck is wrong with you" I spat seething with anger.

"Wow Ashton, I was just saying that you have the best reason for suicide, no need to get so angry about it, anyways guys I was thinking we could be in a club."

The

I shut my eyes, breathing deeply, after all he was right, but then snapped them open again

"A club?" I questioned.

"Like a suicide club, what would do? Hold hands whilst singing songs and talking about our feelings? Count me out" Calum retorted, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Okay so not a club... but a pact?" Michael grinned.

Now this caught my attention... "What kind of pact?" I asked him, my voice laced with curiosity.

"None of us are allowed to attempt suicide for exactly three months, if you still want to when time's up then go ahead, but not up till then" Michael said, so nonchalantly, sticking his hand out into the air.

We all stared at each other. These boys that stood beside me, here on this very rooftop intrigued me, and as I looked at each one of them it made me realise that i'm not the only suicidal freak out there, and if they can last 3 months, so can I.

"Okay fine, i'm in" I said placing my hand over Michael's.

"Me too" Luke responded, extremely quickly, before placing his hand on mine, I looked up at him, noticing a blush coat his cheeks, as he bit down ferociously on his lip ring.

"Fine" Calum sighed, placing his hand over Luke's.

"Great, now we need to make it official, has anyone got any paper we can sign" Michael asked, looking around at us.

I fumbled around in my pockets, pulling out a piece of paper and a pen, which we all proceeded to sign, but just before I could put it away, Michael flipped the paper over.

"Ashton... did we just sign our no suicide pact... on the back of your suicide note?"

And just like that we all burst out laughing, and it felt as if we had all known each other for years as our uncontrollable laughter echoed into the streets below our suicide rooftop.
