CHAPTER 14

TIA

I started going out for walks , I was a bit hesitant but I needed to get back to life. I missed Dominic but there wasn't anything I could do about it. I was reading one Thursday  , when my mother got back from work ,

“ How was your day sweetheart?" , “ It was good ,Umm ” . I looked at her
“ What's wrong?”. “ I have to go to a teachers seminar for a  week . I don't want to leave you alone ”. I looked at her “ Mom I'll be fine, I'm okay trust me ”. “ Are you sure should I call Mel or one of the girls ” ,“Mom don't be scared, I'll be okay, if it's any good you can ask Mrs Goodings next door to check up on me ”.

“ Okay ,be careful and promise to text me every hour ” ,“I promise ”. I helped her pack her suitcase and waved her goodbye. I made sure all the doors and windows were locked. By day four I was bored out of my mind so I decided to go for a walk around the mall.

It was crowded and I would be in public. So I grabbed my handbag and car keys and left. It was a Sunday so it was Extra crowded.

I parked and started walking around. I was  in a store When I heard it ,I knew that sound. My entire body started shaking. It was in a sing-song way. I couldn't think  ,I ran through the crowds and went to the washroom. I went into one of the stalls and hid there..

DOMINIC

My mother was making a fuss ,she came over to my apartment and dragged me over to their house. I haven't been there in months. It was Sunday. We were all sitting at  the back when my phone started Ringing.

When I pulled it out I saw it was her.  “ Hello ” ,“ Dominic help me please,he found me ” ,She was crying shit . I put the phone on speaker “ Tia where are you?” ,
“ I'm at the mall, I ran , I'm scared Dominic,”.
“Stay right there, I'm sending someone to you right now ”. I heard banging on what sounded like the doors in the washroom.

I looked at Bennett “ Call whoever you have on her right now ”. He grabbed his phone and walked off in the distance “ Tia?” We could hear clearly “ I told you didn't I, I told you I'd see you again. I told you not to take things that belong to others, I got you now ”.  I heard the banging and she started screaming . I didn't think that after I ran out , I was going to the airfield.

All the while she Kept screaming  ,I had already pulled up to the Jet. “ No , Please,No , Dominic Help me please”.This crazy  fucker started laughing “ He can't help you ,No one can ,All you had to do was stay away ”.  She stopped screaming,I heard what sounded like a shuffling.

  “ Tia ? ,Tia ” , “ She's okay Mr Chase,but he ran ,the others are behind him ”. “ Don't touch her, she'll be afraid, I'll be there soon ”. “ Yes sir ”.

TIA

I didn't know where to go, who to call ,all the while he kept saying
“ Girls like you should learn not to take things that belong to others ”. I called him. When he found me he jumped over the stalls, I opened the door and tried to run ,but he grabbed my leg. He started hitting me. I started screaming,why wasn't anyone coming?

I saw a guy rush in and grabbed him but he slipped away. When he said Mr Chase,I knew He had sent him. All I could do was cry. I stayed in the toilet crying. He closed the door and all he said was “ Mr Chase is on the way ”. Why ? Why was this happening to me ?. I don't know how long I stayed there. Suddenly the door opened and he was standing there. “ Tia, are you okay?”.

“ No , I'm scared out of my mind ,Can you please hold me ”. He sank down to the floor and just held me while I cried. “ I Should have been more careful ” ,

“ I thought if I stayed away from you it wouldn't happen again,I thought I was safe . Please take me away,  far away please , I don't want to be here anymore ”. “ Okay I'll take you away love , Come on let's go ”.
