That night Steven rested in his bed. Unbeknownst to him, you stared at him, clinging to the ceiling and staring at him as he slept.

Bort: 'He may not be Rose. But he has her exact gem.'

Dropping from the ceiling as silent as a thief in the night. Standing over Steven's sleeping form. You noticed his gem peaking from under his shirt as he lazily slept on his bed. You reached for his gem, your claws gripping onto it as you simply thought of ripping it out and crushing it.

Bort: . . . 'It could kill his biological body. I feel as though he wouldn't survive if his biological makeup requires the gemstone. But why do I care. I only played nice to get this close so I could kill Rose Quartz once and for all. But then there's the cluster. If I were to kill him, well, Rose? Wait, him. . . If he isn't Rose, is Rose hiding in this gem thinking I won't just rip it out and crush her into particles. What a coward. I am unsure how, but I will rid myself of her soon. And Pearl. I'll kill Pearl as well. Crush her into dust, and then go back to Homeworld with Peridot. Once the cluster is handled. I'll kill them.'

You let go of Steven's gem as you leap back up to the ceiling, hiding in the shadows, waiting for the right moment for our plan.

*The Next Morning*

Steven and Peridot were explaining the cluster to the Crystal Gems and the danger it could bring to the world. All while you listened from the ceiling. Though, no one knew you were there except Steven. . . and maybe Garnet.

But you already understood how crucial this thing was to the planet. You ignored most of the explanation as you just thought to yourself. You leapt from the ceiling and landed in front of Pearl surprising her a bit.

Bort: Give me my sword back.

Pearl: W-Wha-

Bort: My blade. The one you used to slay me before. Give it back. I know you have it in your gem.

Steven: Oh, he means his lightsab-

Bort: Gem Destabilizer! It is not this "Lightsaber" you speak of. Anyway, relinquich it to me. It is within my right.

Pearl looked at you, then gave a sly smirk.

Pearl: You'll get it. Just AFTER you help us with the cluster that is.

Bort: . . .

You walk over to the door and leave the house. Walking on the beach and thinking to ourself.

Bort: Damn. I didn't plan for her saying no. Usually creatures are too scared of me to say no. I could just beat her into submission. But I already lasted this long. Then there's that thing with the kindergarten. What was it I did. I ate those corrupted gems. But I don't feel full. Like, I pulled mass amounts of gravity within me. Like a gravity well that dwarfs the force of even a star. . . Like a Black Hole.

. . .

You grin to yourself at the thought of having a massive fallen star in your body. Something that even light couldn't escape.

How does it hold within you without consuming yourself you wondered?

Bort: 'Unless it isn't active all the time. I can manually activate it. Or maybe it's always active, but it would have to be somewhere in my body that cannot be reached. Maybe that is linked to the fluid in my eyes?'

. . .

Bort: I have been alive for over 15,000 years and have never thought about this. . . Then again, Rose has been my main objective for so long. I never considered my own anatomy. My body. My gem. The way I am handled.
