On a misty January day the darkness of the clouds paled in comparison to the joylessness that the young Layla felt, after yet another day of ridicule, and unwanted attention from the boys in her school and on the street it seems that the only solace she could find is in her art. Fortunately for her she lived only a mile from the local cemetery, as she approached the main gate she almost jokingly searched her backpack to make sure she had her drawing pad that she always kept on her. "My second home" she said to herself as she walked in running her fingers along the gate. She made her way to the place where she usually sat; a wooden bench with a willow tree over it and an unnamed headstone, she often sat there for hours at a time undisturbed until security came to tell her they were closing, but today to her surprise there was a boy there sitting alone appearing to be lost in thought.

She went up to him and as she got closer his features revealed themselves; he appeared to be quite tall, thin and have blue black hair he appeared to be around her age maybe slightly older, curiously she went up to him. "Hello? Are you alright?" he almost immediately jumped up, revealing his almost abnormal height "O-oh, yes I'm quite alright, but you startled me I must've fallen asleep" she took a step back, his reaction startling her "I'm sorry I didn't mean to wake you I've just never seen you before, do you live around here?" he sat back down on the bench "yes but I'm home schooled so i generally don't stay out into the afternoon" she went and sat on the other side of the bench from him, holding out her hand "I'm Layla, it's nice to meet you" he was a little shy but he tried to be a gentleman and shook her hand  "I'm Cameron, the pleasure is mine"

They had sat on that bench talking until the security guard came and interrupted them "Layla, you know the drill, sundown means its time to skedaddle." they got up and continued talking until they reached the gate where they had to part ways.

The next day rolled around and Layla was sitting at lunch "Hey baby, whats your number we can spend some time together?" she normally would have threatened to stab out his eyes out with a spork but today was different nothing could bring her down and her best friend Tyler was the first to notice this "So, you ran out of creative death threats or something?" he was laughing as he ate, she was just sitting with her sketch pad as always.

Layla eventually looked up from her drawing of the person who completely flooded her mind and looked to Tyler "I think i met someone i really like, his name is Cameron and we really connected yesterday" her eyes lit up when she spoke of him, but as she spoke Tylers hopes of feeling her love slowly started to be crushed "Wow, how'd you two meet? does he go here?" he truly wanted her to be happy so that meant he would be her best friend "no hes home-schooled and we met at my drawing spot, if you'd like we were planning on seeing each other this afternoon you can tag along and meet him"
