"okay," I said nonchalantly rolling my eyes
"Okay? Is that all you have to say? You are a really smart and intelligent young lady you just can't keep letting people get in your head" she keeps lecturing me
"then what do you expect me to do? Sit there and let them talk shi— ,down on me cause I'm not" I said grabbing my things and about to leave but she stops me

"The fuck is wrong with you Raevyn?" my dad yells bussing into my room and making me jump
"Me and your mom didn't raise you to fucking go fighting at school every day! you should be ashamed of yourself, get your shit together, or your getting put out" he add leaving my room and slamming my door
Sometimes I think people just don't get it, not even my own dad he tells me to stick up for myself but when I do I get yelled at sometimes he just makes me wanna slap the fuck outta him but I can't cause I love him too much.
I get knocked out of my thoughts when someone knocks on my door
"come in," I said shifting in my bed and seeing my stepmom walk-in
"Hey sweetheart," she said giving me a warm smile
"what do you want Karen," I said rolling my eyes cause I didn't wanna hear anything she had to say
"Fix your attitude when talking to me little girl," she said sitting at the end of my bed
"girl don't tell me what to do, you ain't my momma how many times I gotta tell you," I said raising my voice and rolling my eyes again cause I really don't wanna talk to this hoe
"Shut the fuck up and listen before I tell your dad something you don't want me to," she said making me roll my eyes
"Right, that's what I thought I need you to do something for me it's important," she said taking her jacket off revealing hickeys on her neck
"are you cheating on my dad?" I ask looking closer
"Mind your fucking business and just help me get rid of them," she said rolling her eyes
"no, I'm telling Dad what the hell," I said getting from under the cover and walking to my door but get stopped again
"Sit the fuck down and do what I tell you," she said pulling me by my shirt
"girl get the fuck off me," I said scrunching up my face pulling from her opening my door, and going to find my dad as she followed
"Why the fuck is y'all making all that noise" my dad mugged us as we walked into the living room
"She cheating on you," I said pointing at Karen
"She's lying honey why would i —RAEVYN GET THE FUCK OUT MY HOUSE," my dad yells cutting Karen off
"What I didn'— first you got kicked out of school for fighting now you're trying to blame your stepmother for cheating" he yells cutting me off getting in my face
"are you serious? your believing her over your own daughter" I asked as tears formed in my eyes
To be honest I can't believe my dad really believes this nasty ass hoe and that he's kicking me out
"Did you not hear me leave" my dad said walking to the front door and opening signaling me to walk out
I didn't say anything and just let tears fall from my face as I walked out the door making him slam it behind me

I've been walking for the past hour I don't have anything not even shoes or a phone, I just left the house with nothing
It was late and there was nobody on the streets except the homeless, I was thinking about going to my mom's house but I don't think I am welcome there
I'd noticed for the past couple of minutes this black van is following me, but it sped up, and an old white man let down the window
"hey baby girl you need a ride?" he asked smiling and showing his rotten teeth
Is he fucking crazy? I've seen enough sex trafficking online and I'm not gonna be a part of that, but at the same time I have nowhere else to go
"Yeah, could you give me one?" I asked
"of course hop in," he said as the side door opened revealing 2 other men in the back
fuck that I'm not getting kidnapped today
"you know what can I just use one of your phones?"
"If you get in we can take you to where you need to go," one of the men said
"naw I'm cool thanks tho," I said giving them an awkward smile and turning around and going in the opposite way
Once I see that there gone I see a young white lady on her porch smoking a cigarette
"hey excuse me do you have a phone I can use?" i asked with a bright smile
"Yeah sure giving me a sec," she said putting out her cigarette and going into the house
After a couple of minutes, she comes back out with a phone and hands it to me. at first, I didn't know who to call I remembered I have a brother I put his number
"Who the fuck is this?" he asked picking up the phone with music blasting in the background
"It's me Raevyn," I said loud enough so he could hear me
"Ohh wsp sis what you doin," he said noticing it's me turning the music down
"can you come to pick me up, my dad put me out," I said and I heard him gasp through the phone
"Alright I got you send me yo lo," he said as I heard him grabbing his keys in the background
I hang up the phone
"can you send your address to this number please," I said passing her back the phone
she took the phone typing something in looking back at me "So why you get kicked out?" she asked
"i kept fighting in school," I said looking down
"Come sit," she said patting the seat next too her
"thank you some much miss," I said sitting next to her
"Ms.Carter, and it's no problem," she said pulling out her lighter and putting it up to her cigarette "Your a very beautiful girl raevyn" she said blowing out smoke
"thank you, Ms.Carter," I said looking everywhere but her
we sat there for at least 10 minutes talking, getting to know each other. I learned she's a principal, too when we saw a Black Dodge Durango flying down the street and stopping in front of her house letting down the window reveling my brother Omari
"Hurry up and get the fuck in the car," he said yelling letting the window back up...
