Joong-Gil and Ryeon lived together again but this time, away from Jumadeung and it's nosy employees and where there are real sceneries in the windows. They were really good in keeping their relationship a secret. Of course, the board of directors already knows about their past but only the Director, Ryung-Gu and Joong-Gil's two assistants know that they got back together. But in the eyes of the rest of the reapers they are just colleagues who had a history of being on each other's neck and nothing more.

The Risk Management Team has officially became an permanent department and additional members joined the team since Choi Joon-Woong left but the days have been more tiring for Ryeon because of the increasing suicide attempts in Korea. Joong-Gil's days aren't any different. There were a lot of catching up ang polishing to do since he was demoted for six months. It's almost two years already since he was reinstated but the team was in cahoots without his supervision.

Today wasn't any different for both of them. Days like this makes Ryeon want to drink chamomile tea, light a scented candle and sleep but she and her husband are going to have a little celebration however he isn't home yet. There wasn't any text or call from him that he'll be working late that makes her worry. She tried to call her better half but his phone is unattended so Ryeon contacted one of his assistants to confirm but as per Miss Jeon, their Team Leader already went home. She found him smoking on their living room balcony looking so distressed.

Ryeon surprised Joong-Gil with a back hug which made him put down the cigarette he was still holding in order for him to face her. "I didn't knew that you'll be home this early." He kissed her like he always does whenever either of them arrives.

"Have you eaten yet?" Ryeon asks. Joong-Gil shook his head. He was supposed to be cooking but Ms. Koo went home earlier then usual. "Good. I already prepared dinner for our intimate celebration."

"Celebration?" Joong-Gil curiously asked his wife. Today isn't their wedding anniversary, nor their death anniversaries. Ryeon laughs thinking how on heaven and earth did he forgot what today is.

"Have you forgotten that it's your birthday today?" Both of Joong-Gil's lives had the same birthdate however due to the hectic schedule of the man he forgot about it. Thankfully he has a wife to remind and celebrate it with him.

Before Ryeon went back into his life, he never celebrates these kinds of things because first he pledged the Reaper's guarantee of responsibility to the director that made him forgot about his life with Ryeon and he lived the next shortly. Second, his schedules are always jam-packed making no more time for him to celebrate these kinds of things. It was the first time he blew a birthday candle. Joong-Gil was beyond thankful for his wife's effort but Ryeon can see through him that she instantly knew that something was wrong with him.

He offered to wash the dishes after their dinner party but his wife insisted that he shouldn't lift a finger today because it's his birthday. Ryeon just told him to wash up and rest. After Ryeon finished the housework she went inside their room for her nighttime regimen. She saw Joong-Gil still dressed on his work clothes puffing another cigarette on their room's terrace. She let it slide thinking that he might had a tiring day at work that he needs to relax. Her husband was still there when she finished her nighttime routine, Ryeon has decided to talk to her husband. She discovered that he was drinking brandy while smoking. Thats when she confirmed that he wasn't just tired.

"What's bothering my husband?" Ryeon poured brandy on the glass for her to drink then sat on his lap and wraps her arms around his neck. "You only smoke when you're having a hard time."

"I personally escorted a soul today." Jung Gil replied. His low voice was trembling. He knew that he can't hide anything from her and she's the only one he can let all his emotions with.
