Chapter 33: Chrysos

When Taehyung reaches the border of Chrysos, he looks at the army that is waiting to defend its kingdom. "If you had left Voreion alone, I would not have decided to invade you." Taehyung hums as he looks at the army before him. "We will set up camp here for the night." He tells his soldiers who quickly dismount and begin setting up their camp.

As Taehyung's soldiers set up the camp for the night, he stays on Thana and continues to face the enemy that is waiting for his attack.

"Chrysos has a rather large army." Seokjin points out as they continue to watch the enemy army.

"They do, but our path to Ohkta lies beyond them." Taehyung hums and wraps his arms around Jimin who is sitting in front of him on Thana.

"I really think that my lover should be riding with me." Hoseok pouts as he glares at Taehyung.

"I am his older brother." Taehyung grins and ruffles Jimin's white hair.

"You are a thief," Hoseok grumbles as he smiles at Jimin.

Jimin quietly giggles as he listens to them bicker.

Once their camp is ready, Taehyung goes to his tent while Jimin goes to Hoseok's tent. "Be happy that I let him sleep in the same tent as you," Taehyung mumbles as he glares at Hoseok.

"Yes, Your Majesty." Hoseok grins and sticks his tongue out at Taehyung and then enters his tent with Jimin.

When Taehyung lies down in his tent, he quickly links with his mate. "Jungkook, are you busy?"

The moment Jungkook hears his mate's voice, he sets the papers down and smiles. "I can hear you. How are you?"

"I am doing well. I miss you. War was a lot more fun before I had someone to return home to." Taehyung smiles as he thinks of his waiting mate.

"I miss you too, Dear. Are you eating and taking care of yourself?" Jungkook hums and looks up at the full moon.

"I am staying healthy because I cannot wait to return home to you. I am done with war. I still want to run around and explore, but I am done with war." Taehyung closes his eyes as his mate's presence through their link comforts him.

"I am waiting for you with open arms. My Dear." Jungkook whispers through their link when his mate falls asleep.

Before dawn arrives, a fog rolls in. Taehyung walks out of his tent and motions for his waiting soldiers to turn to their wolves. Once his alphas and betas surround him, Taehyung turns to his black wolf and slinks through the fog toward the agitated enemy.

The enemy peers into the fog to try and see the enemy camp. As the front line of soldiers steps forward to try and see through the fog, a large, white phoenix soars out of the fog and attacks them. 

As the enemy soldiers try to fight off the phoenix, Taehyung and his soldiers break through the fog and attack them. Taehyung, Hoseok, and Jin race through the battle toward the general who is leading the enemy soldiers. When the three alphas spot the enemy general, they circle him while snarling and snapping their jaws. The general looks at the snarling alphas and draws his sword.

When the general raises his sword above his head, Jimin flies through the air and grabs hold of the sword with his talons, and yanks the sword from the general's hand. The general cries out in pain as Jimin claws into his arm.

While the general is distracted, the three alphas leap into the air and land on top of him. They quickly tear into him and kill him without hesitation.

Once the enemy fighters are dead, the battlefield fills with silence. Taehyung turns to his human form and looks to the east where the sun is rising. He smiles as the sun's rays begin to melt the fog away.
