𝙄𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙜𝙤𝙠𝙞𝙩 𝙧𝙪𝙛𝙛𝙡𝙚𝙙 𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙛𝙪𝙧 𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 falling snow as it brought an icy chill down with it. It was her first time seeing the white flutters that melted so quickly on her nose, and even though it was cold to the touch, it was enjoyable to play in. By now, the heavy snowfall was subsiding into small flurries, each snowflake outlined by weak sunlight as it traveled just above the treetops. Usually, she would have been upset to be shaken awake by Fawnkit, but when he mentioned fresh snowfall, Indigokit was already heading out into the frosty air.

It had progressively gotten cooler in the past sunrises, and GroveClan was ready for leaf-bare's approaching icy claws. Though it may have snowed and already felt too cold for Indigokit, she was told it would get much nippier before it warmed up. Prey had been running adequately, according to Skyrose, but Indigokit felt the hunting patrols would return empty-pawed after the heavy snowfall.

The snow had accumulated enough to tickle Indigokit's belly fur as she trudged through it, Fawnkit hard on her paws. The camp was relatively empty, so they made their way to the center of the quarry. The high traffic in the center of the camp meant that the snow had already begun to pack down slowly. The rocky corners and crevices of the quarry displayed snow as tall as Indigokit with drifts that lapped at the tops of the dens.

Indigokit let out a huff, shaking snow from her fur and finally catching her breath as she stepped onto packed snow. Skyrose most likely would have scolded her and her littermates to stay inside the nursery, but her mother wasn't in the den when Fawnkit had nudged her awake. Indigokit assumed she had been asked to join the dawn patrol and would likely hunt afterward.

Indigokit was pulled from her thoughts as she was head-butted in the side. With a squeal of surprise, Indigokit went tumbling and landed in some powdery snow. She heard Fawnkit laughing as she struggled to free herself. He was practically rolling while Indigokit eventually pulled herself from the snow. She sneezed, little snowflakes tickling her nose.

"Very funny, Fawnkit," she grumbled, shooting a glare at her fawn-colored littermate. He had gradually stopped laughing, curling his tail in amusement.

"Nice one, Fawnkit!" Willowkit called from the space between Foxstar's den and the medicine den. They both looked toward their sister, seeing her lumbering through thick snow.

"I want to play in that snow!" Indigokit exclaimed, hopping right into the belly-high snow to get there. She hardly noticed dark brown fur before her until she nearly ran into Shadefur.
