The Russians are watching the laser as it opens up
"The gate," Dustin, Steve, and Madison said in unison.
Robin stumbled over a step
"I don't understand. You've seen this before?"
"Not exactly."
Robin expected a real answer. "Then what exactly"
"All you need to know is it's bad,"
"Really bad," Steve agreed with him
"Like, end-of-the-human-race-as-we-know-it kind of bad."
"And you know about this how?" Robin asked skeptically
"Um, Steve? Where's your Russian friend?"
The Russian guard he knocked out wasn't there anymore. The alarm suddenly rang. Steve runs to the exit and opens the door to find a group of soldiers. "Shit,"
Steve slams the door and ran with the others. The group bursts through another room with Russian scientists in it. The five ran downstairs to where the laser is
Dustin screams and pushes a guard in red. The machine is right in front of them, they stared in fear. As the soldiers get closer, the group continued to run down a set of stairs. Steve grabbed onto Madison's hand. He ended up letting go.
Madison shoved a guard out of the way while Steve pushed some barrels down to block the entrance.
"This way!"
The four rush inside, Steve tried to barricade the door. "Help me"
Robin holds on to the door, trying her best. Madison just froze in fear not knowing who to help, the kids, or her friends.
Erica motioned, opening the vent.
"Here! Come on, let's go!"
Madison went to the two kids hoping that Steve and Robin make it, but they are struggling to hold onto the door. "Come on"
"Just get out of here!"
"NO, I'M NOT LEAVING YOU BEHIND," Madison shouted
"MADDIE, JUST GO," Robin shouted now
"IM NOT LEAVING YOU BEHIND"
"COME ON NOW!"
"No! Just go get some help, okay?"
Madison makes eye contact with Steve one last time. She regrets it, not being able to tell him how she felt. That she doesn't want to be friends but much more. And Madison couldn't say it.
Dustin ran toward him. Madison pulled him by the arm.
