CHAPTER 2

The next morning, I found myself completely lost by third period, Kacey had been able to accompany me to at least two classes because either we took them together or were next to each other's, but for the next period my blonde friend had asked a girl named Helen to guide me to the classroom, because it turned out we both took English together. Now Helen was guiding me to the dining hall for lunch.

-Soph! How is your day going? – asked Kacey as soon as we sat down on the same table from the night before. I had come to realize that no one changed places ever.

-Great- I lied, I hadn't made any new friends at all, and classes started to seem way too complicated already.

-Liar- smiled Kacey- Just say it, admit classes are so boring and everyone but us is so lame-

-Not boring just hard- I admitted.

-You'll get used to them-

-Don't lie to her- intervened Helen- No one gets used to two hours of Ms. Trevarrow talking about Physiology and Anatomy–

I laughed, it was true, not only classes were advanced but they lasted at least two hours, or three in the worst-case scenario. So, lunch felt like a huge relief. Also, it seemed like a good opportunity to see the seven again, I had spent the whole night thinking about them, I could not help it, and the fact that I hadn't seen them at breakfast nor at any of my classes made my mind wonder.

-Does the students from the east wing take classes there? - I asked no one in particular.

-No- answered Kacey laughing- Although I bet, they wish they didn't have to mix with mortals like us-

Hearing that I might have a chance of running into them felt like a stupid relieve.

-Talking about classes, what extras are you taking? –asked me Helen who was almost finish eating her pasta.

-Extras? –I asked confused trying not to choke on my salad.

-Yeah, extracurricular classes, the cultural and sportive ones, you were supposed to chose one of each when you were admitted to the institute, everybody has to take them-explained the girl.

-Oh- realization hit me, it was the first day and I already felt like it was too much and I was going crazy- I have chosen art class for cultural, and ballet for the sportive one, which is actually my next class-

-You better hurry, that's on the south wing- commented Helen.

-I'm heading towards the north wing- said Kacey concerned and then she started to look around- But mmmm... Hey! Florence! –

A short dark-skin girl who was walking by stopped.

-What's up? - she approached.

-This is Sophia, she is new, and lost- introduced us Kacey- You are heading to the A1 aren't you? You take ballet, right? –

-Yeah- answered the girl smiling a little- I'll guide you-

-Wait! Where are you going? Are you only going to eat that?! – questioned me Helen when I stood up and got my things to leave.

-Yes, I don't want to throw up in the middle of the class- I explained and started following Florence through the busy and never-ending hallways.

Everything at school looked so different during the day, it was magnificent at night, but right now with the sunlight it looked like a fairy tale.

Florence dropped some data of the history of the place on the way to the class, she also talked a bit about her family in South Africa and their business there.
