Yaseen's POV
13th April, Monday
The melodious sound of crashing waves ringed in my ears.
The sand was as white as the pearls hidden in the shells.
The sky was as clear as the sea.
Birds flew above my head and the winds hugged me as they whispered the secrets of their journey.
Is this a dream?
Am I in heaven?
But this all feels so unreal yet so real.
Darkness.
It clouded me instantly.
But it was comforting.
"He's opening his eyes. Call the doctor!"
What?
Where am I?
Am I still alive?
No.
No.
No, no, no, no, no, no.
This can't be.
I can't live anymore.
This isn't a dream.
It's a nightmare!
"Yaseen. My dear. Are you okay?"
I'm not.
"Let me take a closer look."
This must be the doctor.
Even though I don't want to open my eyes, they involuntary open themselves.
"My dear. Oh! How much you had to go through!"
Ma?
"M-ma." I managed to croak out.
Hearing this, everyone went silent.
"Ma?"
My aunt looked at my uncle who looked like he was about to burst out crying. He gave me one look and left the room.
"Yase-"
"Ma's gone. Baba's also gone. "
Aunt went silent.
Right.
So they are dead.
A tear escaped my eyes as the thought of being all alone hit me.
"I'm an orphan now."
"No, no. You aren't. You are our son." aunt smiled at me.
But that doesn't change the fact that I'm an orphan now.
"I want to be alone."
"Okay." aunt hesitantly said.
I was alone in the room now.
A tear escaped, followed by another one. In no time, a flood of tears was flowing down my face.
This is too much!
Too much to take!
I just want to die!
Is it too much to ask for?
Feeling drowsy, I closed my eyes hoping that it was death that was putting me to sleep.
A peaceful sleep.
