Natsu POV

"What's up man? I'm really not in the mood right now." Gray says as he gets out of his car. When I got home from picking up Wendy I sat on the porch in wait.

"We need to talk man."

His expression changes to a nervous one. "About?" He asks as he takes a seat across from me in a chair at the table.

"About Juvia man. You act like you're not into her but you are. Why don't you just go for it?" His shoulders relax a bit, I'm assuming because I'm not asking about Loke or Sting.

"God, Natsu. Come on. She's- She's..." He runs a hand through his hair, flustered.

"We all know Juvia is a little on the crazy side. I sympathize with you on that one." Lisanna definitely has her moments.

"I think a little is putting it lightly." Gray sighs as he shifts his focus that's been else where, onto me. "Get to the point Natsu."

"You like her. She's practically already in love with you. You literally have nothing to lose. Why not give her a straight answer rather than keep her along for the ride." I say, hoping to get through to him.

"Oh yeah? Like you did with Lu-"

"That's a whole different situation and you know it!" I snap at him.

Grays only response is an eye roll and a raise of his hands in surrender. Gray and I have always been friends. He's also always been Lucy's friend. But ever since I started pushing her away and Gray would tell me about what the rest of our friends were up to, whenever he tried to mention Lucy it's always ended like this. Maybe I'm a hypocrite. I don't know. All I knew is that I thought she was happy. And that's all that mattered to me so I didn't want to hear about it to save her from me ruining that happiness. Apparently I'm blind.

"Look Gray, my point is.. just don't let her slip though your fingers like I did. I get you're probably afraid to ever lose her and maybe that's what's holding you back. But do you know what's going to happen?" I wait for him to look at me before I continue. "Pretty soon, she'll pick him rather than you. Is that what you want?"

"If it makes her happy sure. I could never make her happy." His voice grows quiet at the last bit.

"But what if you could be happy together? Hm? What then? Gray believe it or not you're doing what I did with Lucy. I didn't believe that I could make her happy. I was such an ass to her when she came back I believed she never fully forgave me. But every time I'm in that kitchen with her at work I realize that she did and dose. Don't give up on Juvia, don't let Lyon take her from you."

I'm standing and pacing now, trying to keep myself in check because all I can think about is who took Lucy. Who hurts her and she won't lean on me as her friend because of it. And Gray doesn't know that I know about it.

"Wait.. Are you saying that you finally truly regret taking-"

"Natsuu!"

Saved by Lisanna, fortunately and unfortunately, as she cuts Gray off  running up the porch into my arms. I have a moment where Gray and I make eye contact, and just to piss me off, he gives me that smug little smirk that says he's got everything he needs to make my life miserable.

"Hey, Liz." I say after Gray and I have our small staring contest, kissing her cheek.

"Hey Gray, what are you doing here?" Liz asks.

"He was just leaving." I say before Gray can say anything that I'll punch him for. He just rolls his eyes and stands up, walking to his car.

"Hey!" I call after him, causing him to turn around. "Don't forget what I said." Because I mean it. He needs to get a grip and give Juvia an answer.
