Chapter 34: The Fall of Chrysos

When a sudden wave of nausea hits Taehyung, he grunts and grips the reins in his hands. Sweat beads up on his forehead when the need to vomit overwhelms him. Jin watches with worry when Taehyung suddenly leaps off of Thana and vomits.

"Tae!" Jin shouts and rides over to him. He fights to keep Taehyung safe while Taehyung empties his stomach. "Jimin! Get over here!"

Jimin quickly lands and runs over to Taehyung in his human form. "Hyung, what is wrong?" Jimin asks as he holds the much larger man in his arms.

"I must have eaten something bad." Taehyung groans and leans against Thana. "I am fine." Taehyung smiles and gently pats Jimin's head.

Jimin observes the energy swirling inside Taehyung and makes sure that the energy is not acting up. When he is sure that it was likely something that Taehyung ate, he sighs in relief.

"Come on." Taehyung smiles and mounts Thana and then pulls Jimin to sit in front of him.

"Go. I will finish everything here." Jin tells Taehyung and motions for him to enter the city.

"I will see you soon, Hyung." Taehyung grins and then rides into the chaotic city.

As Taehyung approaches the castle where the King of Chrysos is holed up, he rides through the chaos of war. He and Jimin look at the terrified people who are looking up at them with horror and terror in their eyes.

"They do not seem very wealthy to me," Taehyung mutters as he observes the people who seem very malnourished.

"I am guessing that their royals are very wealthy while the people are poor," Jimin responds as he looks around the burning city.

"I agree." Taehyung hums and urges Thana to quicken her pace.

When they reach the castle gates, Hoseok is standing there waiting for them. "Shall we enter?" Hoseok asks with an excited grin on his face.

"Of course." Taehyung hums and hops off of Thana. With all of his might, Taehyung kicks open the castle doors.

Several enemy soldiers greet them with their weapons already drawn. "If you want to see your families again and plant the next crop, I suggest you put your weapons down. I can assure you that you will be treated well under my husband's reign." Taehyung addresses the soldiers who are opposing him.

"How do we know we will not be killed after setting down our weapons?" An alpha asks as she longs to search for her mate and pups.

"You do not. All that I can do is promise you." Taehyung hums and watches her.

"My youngest pup is sickly. My family needs me." She mutters and quickly sets her weapon down.

"Take your armor off. My soldiers have been commanded to not kill civilians." Taehyung softly tells her.

"Very well." She shakily breathes out and trusts the alpha standing before her.

Once her armor is off, she runs out of the castle to the home of her family. When her comrades realize that Taehyung was telling the truth, they drop their weapons and take off their armor. They all quickly run out of the castle to their homes where their families are waiting for them.

"If you want to live and see your families, drop your weapons and remove your armor! The Empress of Voreion promises your safety!" Jimin shouts from the top of the castle.

The remaining soldiers of Chrysos take their chances and drop their weapons and remove their armor. To their surprise, the soldiers of Voreion lower their weapons and allow them to go to their families.

"You know what to do! Put out the fires!" Jin shouts as he rides into the capital city. "The food wagons will be arriving at dawn!"

The people of Chrysos watch in shock as the soldiers of Voreion begin working to put out the fires. After snapping out of their trances, the people of Chrysos quickly join the soldiers of Voreion and begin saving their homes.
