Cast of Characters

Hailey Johnson (14 years old)

An only child and a freshman in high school who gets bullied by Jesse, Marina and gets verbally and physically abused by her mother. She is very shy and smart. No friends and constant self-hate, negative, and suicidal thoughts constantly cloud her head. Hailey has glasses, braces, and dark red frizzy, curly hair.

Jesse Cwik (16 years old)

A tomboy who is extremely rude, loves to play sports, and has had to repeat freshman year twice. She and Marina are best friends and constantly torment Hailey. Jesse has short brown hair, piercings, and tattoos.

Marina Cimarusti (14 years old)

She is highly influenced by Jesse to do bad things, but they are still best friends. She has a very short temper which causes her to get aggravated really quickly and Hailey is the one who she always takes her anger out on most. Marina has dyed her hair black and always wears dark colored clothing.

Catherine Myers (30 years old)

Hailey's diet obsessed mother, who is also a lawyer. She constantly has a bunch of makeup caked on her face and wears name brand clothing. Her bleached blonde hair is always in a tight bun. Ms. Myers got custody of Hailey when she and her father got divorced and insulting Hailey on anything is something she quite enjoys doing.

Jake Bond (15 years old)

He is popular and smart, but a bystander whenever he notices Hailey getting bullied. Hailey has had a huge crush on him since she has started freshman year. Jake has noticed Hailey a few times, but they have never spoken to each other. He is tall, has dirty blonde hair, and is always seen writing something or reading a book.

Scene 1: Hailey's Barbie doll pink room that has been the same color since she was young. Her bed, with her purple bed sheets, is by the window that has white lace curtains. Her bookshelf, which is near her desk, has various types of books on it. Her desk, which is near the door, is messy. Her laptop is open, iPod with the headphones still plugged in, papers and writing utensils scattered everywhere. Her desk chair is pulled out from her desk. Her bed side table has two drawers, but on top is her favorite picture of her and her dad in a simple black picture frame. There is a medium sized mirror above her bed side table. Her dresser is across from her bed and is filled with baggy clothing and undergarments that are either too small or too big.

Lights up. We see Hailey looking at herself in the mirror while she is putting her curly hair up in a bun.

Hailey:

She is frowning at herself.

God, I'm disgusting. That's why no one likes you.

Catherine:

Her mother calls her name from downstairs.

Hailey, get your fat ass down here.

Hailey:

Looks into the mirror once more before heading downstairs with tears stinging her eyes.
