"The grand ballroom once a place for big events, a special room for special occasions, now full of blood, dead bodies, and weird creatures. This is supposed to be a celebration of success but the table had turned, this was a menace, could this be the end of Fantaxia?" the man in the counter said. It's been a very long time that this rumor's been flying that one of the Kingdoms of Emosewa Continent disappeared. well not really disappeared, it says that the whole city was murdered. It's so hard to believe, I mean a whole city? Really? What kind one people are these murderers? They can't be assassins, ninjas, probably not demons cause there's no such thing as demons.
"Come on man, that can't be true. They just made it up. No one can do that." the other man said.
I stood up and went out of the shop. I've had enough of this nonsense. I better hide before they'll find me.
A group of soldiers went inside the shop right after I left. With the help of my cloak, I hid, looking for a place to blend in. But before I could walk further I heard a shout.
"You there! Halt!" a shout of a soldier echoed on the street.
Damn it, how did they spot me? Without any choice, I sprinted my way to the market. Great thinking, they will not spot me so easily in a crowded place. The soldiers keep on chasing me, I think there are eight or maybe ten of them. No worries, they will lose sight of me when I'm inside the market.
When I arrived at the market it is what I expected, big and crowded but the royal soldiers are everywhere. Man, I didn't see that coming. I didn't stop running until I am completely mixed in the crowd. I have to act normal so that they will not suspect me. I passed stalls of fruits, meats, flowers, and a lot of empty boxes.
I turned to a dark alley, I have to meet someone first. This is very important because if not I'm gonna crush him.
"You're late." Dang, his low voice is so scary. Uh, what happened to my 'I'm gonna crush him' plan?
"I got stuck on my way so-" I was cut because of the footsteps of the soldiers but good thing they did not recognize me.
"As I was saying, I got stuck and chased by those damn soldiers," I said.
"I don't care. Do you have it?" He said in his deep voice.
"Have what?" I said trying to hide away my fear. Jeez, I forgot about that. What should I do?
"Don't play dumb boy, you know what I'm talking about." He said with a hiss.
I stand dumbfounded, I don't know what to do. I'm so scared as hell, I can feel my legs shaking.
"So tell me, where is it?" He said as he circled me like a predator who found its prey.
"Well as you can see..." oh man what should I do. Why did I ever forget such a thing? "...I mean the thing is..." I paused getting myself ready. "I don't have it." I shut my eyes waiting for punch or a slap but nothing happened. I then opened my eyes and saw him sighed.
"Good." He mumbled.
"Wait, what?" what the hell was that.
"I said Good now get out of my sight." then he turned around and walked away.
Well, that was not what I expected. I expect him to be harsher. As he slowly disappeared in the distance I made my way out the alley. I covered myself with my cloak and trying to camouflage myself with the crowd hoping that the soldiers or the people won't recognize me.
I entered an old building where the rooms are cheap. As I entered the room, I took off my shoes, removed my cloak, and went to bed.
What an exhausting day.
