CHAPTER SIX
LEONARD

ETHERION REALM

-From Maya Village to Ered Village-

/a flashback/
Leonard continued practicing his speech intonations as he made his way to Ered Village in preparation for speaking with the princess of the village. He was aware of his own shortcomings when it comes to speaking and expressing his own thoughts. He usually ends up sounding rude or stuttering the things he had to say. There was once a time when their kingdom debated important issues in their realm, the young Leonard was only trying to help when they misunderstood his intentions. It's fortunate that young Lee was present to fill in the deficiencies left by his younger twin's statements, as war was about to shatter the serenity of the land.

He kept practicing speeches in his head over and over again until he let his tongue slide the words out. It was about time they called him as a natural born leader before his age of coming.

'Should I say "good morning" first or should I bow my head?' he pondered as they moved along at a steady speed. The horses had finished galloping and neighing when they arrived at their destination that night.

"Leo!"

He was welcomed by Leviathan while the mages cast protection enchantments. They began constructing a broad and tall fence alongside the village chief and several men. That wall will act as their defense system, which will be helpful in keeping out the Dark Magi. And once that barricade was finished under the construction, the villagers must evacuate the area.

With the warriors by his side, Leonard dismounted the horse. They stretched their arms as some threw their fists. Meanwhile, a helper led the horses of the tired men to a simple barn. They stacked hay and offered water to those exhausted horses.

Snort.

After relieving his stressed muscles, Leonard joined the conversation with the chief, glaring at him from head to foot.

"Chief, this is my second son, Second Young Prince Leonard Alistair Santos." Leviathan introduced him as his hand was on his shoulder. It was hinted that the village chief was glad to see Leonard upon thinking about the bright future of his daughter by just marrying the Second Young Prince.

"Ahh... He's quite a looker, I see," he chuckled, rubbing his beard chin. He slightly moved his head to the hut, where Kaira was resting with Lee as her guard. "My daughter had an accident, so she won't be able to meet you," he informed the Prince, glancing back at him. The Chief tried to pull a smile yet he only strained his muscles.

"Accident? Of what sort?" Leonard raised his brow, curious of what could have happened to his soon-to-be wife. Noticing the faint presence of his twin inside the hut, he knew that the princess was safe.

"Oh, a Dark Magi bit her arm," the chief casually replied, which shocked Leonard, leaving him speechless. "Let's just say..." his index finger rolled to thin air as he construct a sentence. "...she does not act according to her role."

Leonard folded his arms, amused by the chief's statements. Bit by bit, he could see the wearing mask ripping off. "By her role, you mean?"

Nonetheless, the chief responded with a slight shrug, not knowing that he's digging his hole on the spot. "Role as a princess, tsk what else, Your Highness?" He had to turn around when a man patted his shoulder. That man whispered words to the chief's ear that made his face splash white. "P-Please wait for a moment."

Stuttering his words, he left the Second Young Prince and the Prince in a hurry. They saw them argue as the Chief raise a fist, hitting the man. With that, Leonard smelled something familiar but his thoughts had been mixed up with his dreams lately that he's starting to confuse reality over nothing,  therefore, he shook his thoughts out.
