You know how mornings start for normal people? Where the girl is awoken by the sweet sound of her mother's voice, telling her to get ready for school? Yeah, me neither.

"Aurora Paige Kyler, if you do not get your butt out of this bed right now I swear God, you will be in so much trouble!" said my not so happy at the moment mom, who was hovering over my bed.

"Now mom, you know we aren't supposed to 'swear to God'." I responded, praying she wouldn't back hand me.

At that remark, she walked to the end of my bed and pulled the entire comforter off, revealing my naked legs, which I hadn't bothered to shave in about a week.

"Get up. And I will not tell you again."

"C'mon, really? Did you really have to do that? It's Saturday. Why are you making me get up before noon?"

Don't act surprised, this is a normal, summer sleeping schedule for me. It's mid July, which means I'm staying at home all day, most of the time alone, so why not take advantage of it?

"I yelled your name for 30 minutes, trying to wake you up! Gosh, you are such a heavy sleeper! I woke you up to tell you that I got a very happy phone call this morning! It was Lance! He said he tried calling you, but you're phone was dead, so he called my cell, and it looks like football camp didn't last as long as he thought! They are on their way home!"

"Really? When will he get here?"

"He said the bus should get here about 8:00 tonight!"

This is the best news I have heard in so long. Lance has been my best friend since kindergarten, when he threw a rock at a guy who flung dirt in my face. After he was around for a while, my parents thought of him as another son. When we were 12, I started to think of him as something more than a friend. I've had a crush on him ever since. Of course, my family doesn't know that..

"Ya there, honey?" My mom asked, while I had completely zoned out there for a minute.

"Yeah, yeah I'm good."

Oh I'm more than good, it's been nearly four weeks since I've seen him. I'm amazing.

"Great. So why don't you come on downstairs, and eat breakfast or something. Get out of this bed."

"Okay, just give me a few minutes and I'll be down there."

With that, my mom made her way out of my room and I made sure she was half way down the stairs before I started doing a little victory dance. I don't even care that she woke me up anymore. I am in such a good mood now. This. Is. Epic.

I brushed my hair and teeth and made my way to the kitchen. What I walked into was certainly a sight. My 18 year old brother was pouring milk into a brand spanking new box of Fruity Pebbles. In his boxers.

"How dare you ruin my favorite cereal? You could at least put some pants on, you moron.. Jeez"

"Who peed in your Cheerios?" asked Kody-my not as amazing as he thinks he is, brother.

"You, most likely...you probably did that too."

"But you know what? I'm not gonna let you ruin my day. I actually am having such a great day." I said in a daydreamy tone I don't normally use.

"Ohhhhh, that's right, I forgot Lover Boy is back in town." Kody said with a smirk.

Kody has always thought I had a thing for Lance. But I mean, what girl wouldn't? He has killer abs, dirty blonde hair, he's the running back, how do you not fall for him?

"Okay, number one he isn't 'lover boy', his name is Lance. Two, you've known him his whole life, and I'd say you were somewhat friends. And Three, at least he managed to not get a stomach virus half way thru football camp." I said, knowing he took that last one to the heart.
