kenma's pov;

i wished that the ground would open up and engulf me. i wished that kuroo would probably disappear from my sight. i wished that the time would magically stop so that i could rush back home without him. and worst of all, i wished that i didn't watch so many romance anime.

it shouldn't have bothered me under normal circumstances. but it was different this time. the guy in front of me had confessed to me twice, and even though i did not know him much, he wasn't bad looking. it was the personality that made him a total of a 6 out of 10. if life was a romantic comedy, kuroo would probably be the second male lead, who doesn't end up with the main lead. and i would probably be a side character. but what's worse is that the second lead who gets rejected always ends up with the side character.

this was probably not the time to think about this stuff. but it provided as a good distraction from the fact that we were walking under the same umbrella, standing too close to each other because otherwise his frame wouldn't fit. he was holding the umbrella for the both of us, but he was so bad it that it'd just be better if we walked without it. my shoulder was completely drenched.

"um," i started. "can you move it a little towards the middle? i'm soaked."

"oh?" he turned towards me with a huge smile. "me too," he replied, showing off his wet arm and leg, making me sigh.

"why don't we just rush towards the apartment then? it'd be quicker."

"are you sure? you're not scared of the storm?" he questioned, leaning towards me a bit.

"i long for it honestly," i replied hiding my smile. as a kid i'd never be able to go out in the rain due to my poor immune system. i spent half of my childhood being sick, and the other half crying over math problems in front of my home tutor. college was a new experience since i was attending on campus classes for the first time (plus, no maths).

he smirked at me then, and closed the umbrella. "should we race?" he asked.

"you just declared an all out war," i replied, getting ready to run, and took off before his countdown was completed.

"hey, thats cheating!" i heard him shout from behind and i laughed a bit.

he was quick to catch up with me though, and it was fun running in the rain too. he could've easily won the race, given how fast his pace was. but i think he deliberately slowed down right before we reached the apartment's parking lot.

"you're such a loser," i shouted, because the rain was too heavy. too loud for it to be heard.

"and you're so beautiful," he shouted something back, but i couldn't hear it. partly because he was standing a little away from me, and was making his way towards me while splashing through the puddles of water on the floor.

"what?" i shouted back. he reached and stood in front of me.

"nothing," he shouted back, giving me a smile.

if i had to rate how today went after he showed up at the cafe, i think i'd probably say 8/10. and i would've said i did not regret anything about running back home with him in the rain if it wasn't for me waking up in an apartment room that wasn't mine.

the pacing was off, this wasn't usually how fast things progressed. and especially not when i saw him shirtless and found out that i was wearing a shirt that wasn't mine.

"oh, you're awake," he said, coming closer towards the bed. "good morning, are you feeling better?"

"what the hell," i shouted. "why are you naked?! and why am i wearing your shirt?!"
