The bridge hadn't been broken yet because the group got off the train 'too soon.' The Dokkaebi said the preparation time was 10 minutes. But the group escaped three minutes earlier. Some people would have called it cowardly but this scenario couldn't be cleared without such a shortcut at their current levels.

The Han River surged like there was a tsunami and the ichthyosaur moved. It was chewing on the legs of the bridge.
M/n halted to a stop as he saw the ichthyosaur up close. He didn't budge even when Dokja tried to drag him along with him. M/n's mind blanked as he remembered what exactly had happened in the scenario.
This must've been the way the bridge broke in the original novel, thought M/n. It's far more horrifying seeing it in real life. . . What if I'm the one Yoo Jonghyuk throws off the bridge? That would be disgusting. M/n hadn't realized the gravity of the situation until now. He knows it isn't possible but he could be the one that Jonghyuk throws off the bridge into the disgusting belly of that ichthyosaur. In the world of fanfics anything was possible and he didn't know what would happen next.
