Nightlight is curious about her past, but Opaline never lets her know about it. Opaline was so obsessed with Nightlight Alicorn magic, she prefers Nightlight to Misty. Because she only used Misty for her obsession. That is why Opaline never let Nightlight get out of her castle.
But that does not stop Nightlight from going outside, she sometimes used her Alicorn magic to fool Opaline by making copies of herself, she knows a little about magic because she always does some research by sneaking into the libraries.
With her intelligence, she could use her magic with ease. But if she used it too much, she will faint. Nightlight never knows what her real name is, or where she came from, she even never knew her real family members. It was like her adoptive mother was trying to keep her for herself.
Even if Nightlight and Misty were together, they never had real conversations with each other, because they had their things separately. But that doesn't bother Nightlights, because she loves spending her alone time reading and practicing or learning her magic.
