Sadly the tank stopped working and the zombies were coming after it. It happened so fast that I could barely describe what I saw. Last thing I remember is the tank on the floor, and zombies getting the ones inside out, later an explotion and a lot of smoke.
I saw everyone, so quiet and sad, later I saw Audrey.
"No, no. Let's go back!" Audrey cried.
The soldier stopped the tank and tried to turn it as fast as he could. By the time he turned, the tank was already abrogated. I turned to see Audrey, everything was so slow, she closed her eyes as the tears started to come one after another. She was silent.
I turned to see my other friends, everything was as the beginning slow, and silent, nobody said anything, or it was just me?
"Adora, Adora" I saw Sidney's lips moving. "Adora!"
I turned around. And as the beginning a big shout woke me up from whatever I was in, like a day dream. Everything was so weird, how did this happen? Why? When? Those questions were bothering me.
I wanted to cry so hard, show that I wasn't as strong as I seem, but I didn't. I had to be strong even though I'm not. For Audrey, for Savannah, for Sidney, for everyone, specially for Connor... I started to hear everything. Shouts, people crying.
"Stop!" I demanded. "stop, just don't... We can do this"
Everyone stared at me. "We'll be fine. Stop, just... Let's get the hell out of here."
"Adora." Sidney said as she shook her head.
"You don't know what's going to happen and you just say it?" Matthew pointed out.
"What about you? You're just being selfish with your thought, think of a better thing than just kissing your girlfriend" Oh god! I'm just messed up, she's going to kill me... Well if the zombies don't kill me first.
I shouldn't be joking about this...The soldier started driving again, we were back in the route. But where were the other tanks? We lost time. The man drove to an opposite direction.
"What are you doing?" Connor asked.
"Buying candies, what do you think I am doing?" he asked.
"We are not going the right way." Connor said.
"How do you know?"
"I know where we are, and you are going the wrong way. " he said.
"Sorry for your assets in social studies kid, I know where we are either." he coughed.
"I don't need assets, I keep my reputation." Connor said.
"You mean your asshole reputation?" Sidney said.
Savannah and I laughed in silence. I don't know if anybody noticed, but I found the soldier really familiar. I really didn't care much because we had more important things to think about.
We tried to ask the soldier where we were heading, but he just ignored us, meanwhile Connor tried to look smart by telling us where we were and all.
"Damn you kids, we're heading to Bay Islands, but we need to stop somewhere first..." he answered annoyed.
Connor kept insisting that we were heading to the south. It was incredible how silent it was, the only one who was talking was Connor. Sometimes we could tell by our faces that we were thinking the same things.
Finally, someone talked. Ava said that she didn't want this feeling of sickness and depression, she wanted to feel happy. I asked her why. She told me that maybe, those would be our last moments, who would know.
