*six week time skip*
Tonight was the Tony Awards! Frida and I were stood in her apartment getting ready. I was wearing a long, emerald green, corseted dress.
(The dress)
My hair was pulled into a half up half down style with pearls strung through. My eye look matched with the dress and paired with a maroon lip. Frida wore a white dress with feathers that looked so damn good on her. We decided to drive to the awards together in a limo! Since we both didn't have dates. Her girlfriend was out of town on business and Mike was obviously in a different show.
We both grabbed our handbags and through our heels on and we're out the door and into the limo. We were giddy with excitement as it was both of our first Tony awards! A short 20 minute drive later we pulled into the theatre and were directed to the red carpet. We waited for a hot minute before walking the red carpet. Frida let me go first and held back for a few seconds. I stood and posed for a few seconds before somebody came up and tapped me on the shoulder. I turned around expecting Frida but was met with Mike!
"Oh my god! Hey!" He kissed my cheek and the paparazzi went wild
"You look so good." He breathed out
I blushed and gave him the same compliment as we posed for a few more pictures before walking more down the carpet. We eventually made it to the interviews portion. Mike and I split up and walked to different people.
"Jocelyn!" A vogue interviewer called me over
"Hey!"
"Jocelyn Darling, how are you feeling tonight?"
"I'll be honest. Really good and really anxious. Don't get me wrong I love the other nominees, but it would be a dream to win!"
"I hear you. Tell me about your dress."
"Well, I wanted something simple. So I went simple but there is actually a corset so I can barley breathe." I laughed
"I heard a rumor and I guess it's true! But, you and Mike Faist?"
I blushed and giggled a bit. I looked over at Mike as he laughed with Josh at an interview
"Mike and I are dating. For about 7 months now. Yeah, it's been great. He's great."
"Wonderful to hear! Have you guys talked about marriage?"
This caught me by surprise. A loud laugh escaped my mouth.
"Wow. No, but I think I would like that."
"Alright, well. It's been amazing talking to you! Good luck in there!"
"Thank you!"
. . .
After a few more interviews, I found Frida again and we walked into the theatre together. We found a few more of our cast mates and we tried to find our seats. We walked down and found our seats. We all conversed until I heard a few familiar voices behind me. I looked behind and saw the Newsies cast were sitting behind the Les Mis cast. Behind me were Mike and Kara!
"Hey Kara!" I said as we made eye contact
"Hey girl! Good luck!" I was about to respond but then the house lights went down
I turned to the stage as the hosts entered and the anticipation was crazy.
. . .
Finally, we had made it to the Best Supporting Female Role in a Musical. Frida grabbed my hand and Mike placed a hand on my shoulder. I placed my hand on top of his as they named the Nominees. As the camera came on me I smiled and squeezed Mikes hand.
"Our winner of Best Supporting Female Role in a Musical is... Jocelyn Darling!"
My whole world was in slow motion! I snapped out of it and heard the crowd cheering. And most lousy, the newsies behind me. Frida pushed me out into the isle and I walked up to the stage. It was more like stumbled but whatever. The host helped me on the stage and I took the Tony and walked to the stand. Happy tears fell slowly down my face.
"Hi! I would like to thank everybody who helped me! My incredible cast and crew in Les Mis! I love you guys! So much. Also, my boys at Newsies. You guys deserve the world. Um, my mom I love you so much! Dad, I miss you and I know you would be proud of me! Mike, I love you so so much! Thank you for supporting me the entire time! Alright, I'll end it here! Thank you so much!"
Another round of applause came as I went back to my seat. Mike stood up and hugged me and placed a kiss on the top of my head and then another on my lips.
. . .
"Best Revival of a Musical is... Les Miserable!"
We all went up to the stage as the director took the mic. He said a quick speech before we all went back to our row. The rest of the awards went on. We got best stage design and Newsies won a few also! Including Best Female Lead in a Musical and Best Male Lead in a Musical.
. . .
After the awards I caught a cab back to my apartment after more pictures and more interviews. I slipped my shows off but then heard a knock on my door. A groan escaped my mouth but I answered. Mike stood there wirh a bouquet of pink roses. My favorite. My sour mood turned sweet in a matter of seconds.
"Come inside!" I ushered my boyfriend in
He handed me the flowers and I sat them on the kitchen counter before attacking Mike in a hug. He chucked before wrapping his arms around my waist.
"God Jocelyn, I am so proud of you!" He whispered in my ear
Tears pricked my eyes as I let go and led him to the couch.
"Do you wanna change our of your suit?" He had left some clothes here
"Yeah, if you don't mind."
"Of course I don't!"
He followed me into my bedroom and I threw some sweats and a shirt at him. He walked to the bathroom to change but I stopped him.
"Mike?"
"Yeah?"
"Could you unzip me real quick?" I asked a bit embarrassed
He smiled at my words but turned me around and unzipped my dress before he stepped into the bathroom. I changed out of my dress and into some shorts and one of mikes sweaters. I undid my hair and took of my makeup. I walked out to the couch and threw on some T.V show. Mike eventually came out and threw himself onto me.
My back fell onto the couch and luckily my head hit a pillow. He wrapped his arms around my waist and dug his face into the crook of my neck. Butterflies swirled around my stomach. I brought my hands up to his hair and started messing around with it. I turned my head slightly so I could watch whatever episode of Grey's Anatomy was on. Eventually, my eyes got heavier until I fell into a deep slumber.
