I am model:7936, a Salaretron designed to look like your average teenager. Salaretrons are robots combined with holographic technology. In 2012 we were invented to walk amongst humans like we were one of them. I guess you could say that we are a form of surveillance. We don't harm people and we are not part of some world domination plan. We simply live amongst others to ensure safety.

When we are created we are given false identities. The name Ashlyn was chosen for me. I live with a "foster family" who signed a contract, verifying that they will house us. We don't eat, sleep, or do any other normal human behaviors, so it is easy to find families who will take care of us.

The family I am assigned to are the Slates. Jarrod, the father;Amanda,the mother; and Jackson, the son.

In total there are nearly two million Salaretrons existing among hums in the world. Most are made to look like adults. These adult Salaretrons perform governmental duties and go overseas to make sure other countries aren't planning to attack our home country, America. These adults are designed with super human abilities, such as great speed, invisibility, and strength.

Teen Salaretrons do not have most of these abilities. Depending on our location, we can be upgraded to gain more power. Most of us are very intelligent with no "super powers".

Since we do not age we are nomadic. I have changed schools twice.

I have red hair that does not grow, blue eyes, and nearly features due to my robotic body. We aren't completely robotic. Only out skeletal systems are metal the rest is made of a special material that uses holographic images to make us look realistic. Electric impulses in the holograms are used to trick people. If we are aware that someone will touch us we can use these impulses to make them think they are touching human skin. We are a secret. If I were to let my guard down and allow someone to know the truth the Salaretrons would be in great trouble. People fear what they don't understand and will see us as a threat.
