(Lear's view)

I wiped sweat from my forehead before returning my attention to my mom who smirked at me as she got into a fighting stance, her eyes never leaving mine as we continued training together. my hair sticking to my face as we continued.

"Why do we continue sparring mum? I know that you want me to be able to protect myself, but I'm tired of this, I'm tired of sparring all the time. I just want to be able to make friends, I don't like being cooped up in the sweltering heat of our house all day." I said, before sheathing my two daggers and crossing my arms to look at her in annoyance.

"There is a reason we remain secluded from the capital Lear!" mum snapped back at me as she raised her two swords as an unspoken command for me to do the same, I shook my head making no move to unsheathe my twin daggers.

"I hate this! I am no soldier! I'm just a 17 year old who's mother wants him to become a human weapon against the capital!"I shouted, before grabbing my bag and dashing away from the house and my mom leaving them behind me.

I continued to run along the woodland pathway leading me deeper into the woods until I arrived at a wide open clearing full of fallen leaves and flower petals when I noticed that I wasn't completely alone.
