It was the end of the year, and also the end of Umeed's time at the university. She had started taking her studies more seriously because she didn't want to be left behind by Farjaad. She wanted to mature so that Farjaad wouldn't feel ashamed when introducing her to others. These thoughts had been running through Umeed's head since her last trip to the beach after the show. She believed that she should become a person whom Farjaad could be proud of. So, she tried her best and worked hard, disregarding day and night.

However, there was also something new she had started that surprised everyone—she began taking classes in literature. Even Pasha Sahab was speechless when she told him that she was going to take extra literature classes, not Urdu Literature, but English Literature. Everyone noticed that Umeed had changed, especially after her confession on the show. They realized that she was altering herself, not her habits, but her way of living, which included her laziness and idle sitting.

With the university ending in two weeks, Umeed had exams going on. Not only was Haya worried about her health, but Mimi and Sameer were as well. The trio failed in persuading her not to take these exams too seriously, to the point where she neglected her diet and sleep. In the end, they reluctantly gave in, and Mimi comforted them, mentioning that there was only one thing that could help calm Umeed down. Consequently, Mimi went to her home and headed straight to her brother's room.

Farjaad wasn't present there, which compelled her to say, "Aik bhai hain, unhain apnay kaamon se fursat hi nahi hai." She immediately called him, but Farjaad declined the call, which annoyed her a lot. After exactly 10 minutes, Farjaad called Mimi, and she answered the call.

“Han Mimi beta apki call arahi thi”

“Ji Bhai!! Ap kahan hain?”

“Sorry meri meeting chal rahi thi, kiya hua kuch kehna hai?”

“Ap ye batain ap ghar kab tak aiyengay?”

“Bus adha ghantay mai”

“Chalain ap ghar aengay to baat kartay hain”

“Acha chalo theek hai, Khuda Hafiz”

“Khuda Hafiz or jaldi ayega”

Mimi ended the call, shaking her head with worry and annoyance. Meanwhile, Farjaad was constantly wondering why Mimi had called him. He decided to call Umeed, but she ended the call after the first ring and sent him a text message saying, "I am busy, will call you later, don't worry." Farjaad had lost count of how many times Umeed had sent him the same message without actually calling him back, except for a "Goodnight" and "Sorry" message that followed. He knew that Umeed had exams going on, as she had told him a month before, but he didn't realize how obsessed she had become about her studies.

After 30 minutes, Farjaad headed home and found Mimi waiting for him outside his room, sitting on the sofa. Her eyes were closed as her head leaned against the wall. When Farjaad saw her, he called her name in a gentle voice, saying, "Mimi."

She opened her eyes and immediately said, “Shukar hai Bhai ap agaye”

Farjaad asked her softly, “yahan kiun so rahi ho or kiya baat hai phone pe bhi tumne kaha tha jaldi ana”

Mimi said to him,” Bhai zara lambi baat hai, agar ap ziyada time ke liye free hain to baat karain?”

Farjaad instantly said, “Han han mai free hoon or aao andar sukoon se beth ke baat kartay hain”.

They settled down, and Mimi began explaining the whole situation to him. She described how Umeed is irresponsible about her health, diet, and sleep. She mentioned that Umeed has become obsessed with her studies to the point of insanity. Mimi also expressed her concern over Umeed's change in behaviour, becoming anti-social and completely engrossed in her books. Umeed had lost her cheerful and lively nature during these exams, and even Haya and Sameer were worried about her.
