Not a month after attending the anti-lockdown protest, Josh would be thrust into a world that would challenge his beliefs, biases and identity.
On May 25, 2020, a Minneapolis police officer by the name of Derek Chauvin killed an unarmed black man named George Floyd. The ordeal had been caught on video by a bystander. The video would go on to be viral and sparked massive protests against racial injustice. This event would forever change the course of a generation.

Andi: *shares video of George Floyd murder*
Kelly: yo wtf?
Josh: omg why didn't he get off his neck?
Lian: This is why nobody like the police.
Andi: Fr Lian dawg. As a black person, why tf would I support an organization that was literally created to hunt down my ancestors when we were fleeing slavery.
Josh: The police aren't all bad people though. They're just some bad officers that need to be better rooted out.
Andi: Nuh uh Josh what you tryna say?
Josh: It's bigger than black and white. Just because one officer did something bad, doesn't mean it defines every police officer.
Kelly: Josh you my boy and all, but it's giving ignorant.
Andi: Fr like you need to do some research bae.
Josh: well if I am "ignorant", where should I start? I highly doubt that I am wrong but...
Andi: You can start with searching up about the "Blue Wall Of Silence". Then read about studies on unconscious bias. Then search up the history of police in America.
Josh: Damn ight.
Andi: We need to cure you from this ignorant energy fr fr. Anyways, y'all attending the protest tomorrow.
Kelly: Where at?
Andi: Washington Park at 10 AM. They finna march through the city with a caravan. There's finna be a crowd of people and horde of cars marching down the street.
Kelly: Shittt you know I am there. What about you, Josh?

Josh arrived at Washington Park just before 10 AM. Unlike the anti-lockdown protest, the park was packed. At least, a thousand people had shown up. There were so many people that Josh had to facetime Andi to find them. After a few minutes of crowd surfing, he finally found Andi, Kelly and Lian who had come with Maddie.
"Jesus Christ, there is so many people, " said Josh as he hugged his friends.
"Folks, this damnear is going to be a revolution. Apparently, every city in the country is protesting this shit, " said Andi.
"We done created the biggest civil rights movement in history. On baby!" exclaimed Kelly.
"And we definitely not finna play around either. We not like our ancestors. We really will punch on these racist white folks, " added Maddie. Josh just laughed.
"Bro, you guys really did not come to play today, " teased Josh.
"Nah bro, as generation Z, we are sick and tired of seeing everyone be okay with how broken our society is. This shit shouldn't be normalized. We've been fighting this bullshit for 50 fucking years. I want my black liberation!" said Andi and he raised his fist.
