(Once again, little rant on characters.

Ukraine is female, and oldest.

Russia is male and second oldest

Belarus is female and second youngest.

Kazakhstan is male and youngest.

USSR/Soviet Union/Onion is male and currently dead.

The others who were part of the Soviet Union are not really Soviet's children, they just look at him like a father figure.

Germany is their step-sibling because TR and Soviet fell in love.

This is where my limited knowledge of German pays off. Thanks, Duolingo!

Thank you for reading my rant again.)

Russia woke up to an alarm clock blaring at him.

Fantastic. His sister probably turned it on. He made a mental note to talk to Belarus. She always said things like, "Socialize with people!" "Wake up early!" "Play outside!" and would make the excuse of "It's good for you!"

Ridiculous. The only things Russia needed were Semechki and Vodka.

Wait. He thought. It's Monday.

Oh great.

Russia hated school.

He got up and stretched. He was not looking forward to it.

After quickly getting ready, he went downstairs to eat breakfast.

His three siblings were already there. Ukraine and Belarus were talking. Kazakhstan was the first person to notice him.

"The night owl rises!" Kazakhstan joked. Russia sighed. Why were his siblings morning people?

"Okay Kazakh." Russia replied, using Kazakhstan's nickname. Belarus had one as well. Her's was "Bela." Ukraine and Russia didn't have nicknames, though Ukraine said she'd come up with some. So far, nothing.

After a quick breakfast, they arrived at school with 10 minutes to spare. It was bustling with many countries. Too many. Russia's social anxiety was really showing itself. He avoided as many conversations as possible until Germany jogged towards them.

"Guten Morgen Russia!" Germany greeted them.

"Hello Ger." Russia greeted back. Russia always remembered names easier with nicknames; it was just habit.

"Hey, I have news to tell you. Something happened over the summer." Germany whispered. Despite being step-siblings, Germany lived separately from them. He said he liked peace and quiet. UN considered his past and let him be. Russia couldn't blame him; his siblings got really chaotic sometimes. Once, Bela and Kazakh almost burned the house down because they both wanted to cook.

"What is it?" Russia asked, actually eager to hear.

"I-I." Germany stuttered while whispering. "I confessed to Poland."

Russia smiled, "That's amazing! Did she like you back?" He hoped it was yes.

"Ja." Germany answered nervously. "She liked me a lot. We're dating now."

"I'm so happy for you!" Russia smiled. Things were going good.

"I should go now. I want to find Poland amongst everyone." Ger said and left. Welp, there went Russia's buddy/brother.

Then Russia spotted a face in the crowd. America talking to Canada. Russia sighed. He and America had been at odds for a while. Russia was meaning to try to make a friendship with him. Maybe now?

No. He decided. Too many people around here. Plus, today's going just fine. No need for anything else

"Russia! Come on, school starts in 5 minutes and we still have to get our schedules!" Ukraine called for him.

Russia turned away. He'd have to wait. That was fine with him.
