The woman walked down the halls with a bored attitude. She had thrown her bag over her left shoulder and looked extremely tired out.

„See you tomorrow, Koyoharu-san", said a man in fancy suit, as he passed by. „Don't forget to attend the meeting at 10 am."

Said brunette, Koyoharu-san, nodded respectfully and exited the building. Going to the train station, she recalled the information she got at her job at the HPSC, today. As she entered her apartment, she quickly got out of her jacket and shoes, let the bag fall on the floor and ran to her bedroom, where she pulled a laptop hidden under the mattress out.

This was bad.

~~~
Dazai groaned as Kunikida basically dragged him to his working space.
„Yosano, could you lend me a rope to hold this waste of perfectly good bandages to this chair so he actually does his job? Why does he even get paid?"
„You're so mean, Kunikida-kuuuuun - I do try to work, you just distract me all the time."
„Emphasis on TRY!"
They got interrupted by a weird notification tone, that sounded strangely familiar to a weezing horse.
„Opps, that must be my laptop, be right back!"
He quickly got free from the rope that was halfway wrapped around him and moved to the couch, leaving behind his deadpanned colleagues, where he had been looking at terrifying animal pictures, such as birds with arms. Who on earth makes a picture of birds with arms or smiling teeth!?
His usually goofy face changed to a serious expression, as he read the familiar coded e-mail he had received.
„Yosano-sensei. Call Ranpo and contact the president. We will need to attend an important meeting."
~~~

„Oh, okay, we'll be there in a few minutes." Click.

„What is it?", a girl with a mouth full of crêpe asked.

„I don't know, but judging that we got called in on our free day, it's probably something urgent."

-At the agency-

„Boss?", Tanizaki called out. „Why are we here today? Weren't you on a business trip?"

„I came back earlier than I expected, it didn't take as much time as I thought it would. And we have important news. Dazai, if you would."

At these word everyone turned to said brown haired man child, that now stood up.
„As some of you may know, I have quite a few informants. In Yokohama and in the outside world. One of them being at a quite important position at the HPSC, or as you might know it, the Hero Public Safety Commission."

The other agency members exchanged a few looks at that information, as they all but one didn't know this particular fact beforehand. The one being the reason they even can be called a detective agency, but that's someone you don't need to be a mastermind for to know who's meant with that description.

„My informant coincidentally found a recent file that stated, that the commission wants to start a project to, apparently, save children from Yokohama's villains,"

The room started filling with mumbling.

„AND," Dazai got their attention back, „they are also searching for ways to arrest any ability users in and outside of Yokohama, without getting the attention of the media and - "

The gifted were now over talking Dazai's explanation, even Kunikida joined in.

Relatable, because if they were to succeed, not only would every Ability user be taken god knows where, but also would be children, which they had two in their agency, be brought to the outside world and who knows, what the government would do to them, since they already take children away and raise them to be so called heroes, just because they have a for their norm strong power. Further, as it can be seen from multiple examples, some people experiment with humans, more specifically children, and mess with powers they can't control.

Humans sometimes are truly terrible creatures.
