Cars and motorcycles are riding in the middle of the streets in Surulere. This is Lagos. It's just 5:10 am and everywhere is busy.

"Dear God. Make Sadiq mine. He is the one I love I just hope he loves me back". I prayed rubbing my palm on my body. I let out a smile.

On one hand, is Maryam who is fast asleep, and on the other hand is Safreena who is still praying.

"Maryam" I held her clothes to wake her up but she just so much loves sleep. I wiped her body with Tasbih.

"Afreen". She screamed. "Would you just allow me to sleep?". She sat up.

" Prayer time has passed. Wake up and perform ablution". I said.

She gave me a bombastic side eye and I looked away. I'm used to this.

"Daughter of the devil". I whispered.

I quickly picked up my phone to call Sadiq.

"You wanna call Sadiq". Safreena said folding her prayer mat.

"Yes". I said happily.

"Too bad he won't pick". She started removing her clothes.

"I don't know why some people will just be disturbing themselves over nothing". Maryam laughed.

"You guys will just be ruining my relationship with your mouths". I frowned.

"As if I have time". Safreena made her way to the bathroom. She stopped after taking a few steps then turned and faced Afreen. "I don't have time to waste. If I come out of the bathroom do not stop me by complaining about Sadiq ". She folded both hands together, pleading.

"Whatever". I hissed.

She made her way to the bathroom.

I dialed Sadiq's number happily. He picked and before I could say anything he ended the call.

He did not pick, no offense. Probably he is busy.

I dialed again. He picked.

"Aslamu alaikum baby". I greeted.

"Wa'alaikum salam Afreen. How are you?". He asked.

"I'm doing good. Hope you have prayed?"  I asked.

"What's this Afreen? Are you mad?". He said angrily.

"No I'm just...". I didn't finish when he cut me off.

"You are foolish. Do you mean a grown man needs a dumb and unwise girl like you to be reminding me of when to pray?".

"Ahn Ahn Sadiq. Take it easy. It's harsh". I said and Maryam laughed.

I eyed her.

"Don't talk to me and don't ever call me again".

"Sadiq, Sadiq". I called out but he ended the call.

I sat on the only couch in our bedroom.

Tears started rushing down.

"Oh sorry". Maryam teased.

I threw the pillow that was lying on the couch at her.

Safreena finished and came out of the bathroom.

"Safreen, safreen". I called out.

"It's 5: 30now. I need to leave this house by 6. After the hold-up and everything. I need to get to work by 7 and you know the distance of my work. Anything you want to say, I'll listen after I come back". She explained.
