15 : breakfast with ethan

“Good morning, Hyejin! I know you're kinda surprised seeing me. I'm stay here for a night because I want to ask you to join my breakfast this morning?” he asked with a soft smile.

“Oh, is that so? Ethan, can you give me a few minutes? I need to fix a few things inside.” she asked politely and Ethan just nodded.

The door immediately closed.

Hyejin looks at the bathroom door. Seems like Jaeyun haven't done yet and it's still two hours before she needs to check out. Thinking about Jaeyun's reaction last night makes Hyejin nervous.

Jaeyun shouldn't know that Ethan waiting for her in front of her hotel room. After thinking for a few minutes she decided to have a breakfast with Ethan.

Well, he is my dad's best friend son so why not?

Besides, it's just a breakfast.

Nothing much.

Hyejin opened the door again with a bright smile and Ethan replied with the same energy as her. Ethan took this as a yes from Hyejin and he offered his hand.

She was flustered when Ethan offered his hand but thinking of being a little bit nice with him so Hyejin gladly held his hand. Two of them went inside the elevator but none of them uttered any single words.

Ethan who can't stand this kid of situation finally opened up with Hyejin.

“I heard from Jake that you two were schoolmates before. Are you two close back then?” he asked and Hyejin awkwardly turned her head.

“Ah, Mr Jake tells you about us? Well, we were kind of close and he was my tuition tutor. Basically, we became close because of that.” she answered calmly meanwhile nobody knows how nervous she is.

Of course she won't tell Ethan about what happened between them. It's their old story, their old past and their old relationship. No need to remind them about it.

And if Hyejin accidentally remember, then probably because she wanted to.

As the elevator door opened, Ethan welcomed her and Hyejin giggles watching his playful behavior. They went to one table that Ethan already ordered.

“Hope you enjoy this breakfast with me, Hyejin.” he said with a big smile of his face, showing the features of a cute deer on his face.

“Thank you for inviting me for the breakfast, Ethan.”

“I just want to get know about you more. Maybe we can be friends?” he asked politely and a coy smile appears on her face.

“I won't give my number easily. Let's make a deal, if I meet you again–Mr Jake's office is not include in this–then, I will give you my number. Deal?”

Ethan nodded, he understands and respect her opinion. Of course he will take everything slow and he is not rushing for it.

Both of them having a peaceful breakfast with some music at around the hotel diner room. Hyejin sometimes look at her watch because she left Jaeyun alone in her room.

And Ethan noticed everything but he didn't say anything.

After breakfast, Hyejin excused herself and quickly went to her hotel room. When she get inside there's no sign of Jaeyun in there and she noticed a small note on the night stand.

“I need to leave.
Enjoy your breakfast.”

Don't know why but Hyejin could sense a huge jealousy feeling by reading the note. Even by Jaeyun's handwriting. She let out an heavy sigh and packed her things before she left the hotel.

Before she starts the engine of her car, Hyejin tried to dial Jaeyun's number but he didn't pick up the phone.

Someone is jelly.

As he reads those texts from Hyejin, he let out an heavy sigh. Put his phone down he looks at the golden retriever boy who's hugging his own golden retriever dog–Layla.

He leaned on the sofa watching Jaeyun's frustratedly groaned for the eleven times.

Yes, he counts.

He can't believe Jaeyun will call him and asked him to come to his penthouse. When he arrives, a young cheerful girl was so happy to greeted him and he assumes that's Jaeyun's sister.

“You look horrible, dude.”

“Horrible. Terrible. I hate Ethan!”

“Bro, be fucking for real before you saying that about your best friend.”

Jaeyun scoffed, “I am jealous, Jongseong. What should I do?”

Once again, he frustratedly groaned and his voice echoing around the penthouse. Gladly, Layla still peacefully sleeping on his lap.

“Confess. Tell her.”

“Nah, too early for our friendship.”

“You suck, Jaeyun! Just ruin it, that friendship means nothing.”

With that, Jaeyun glared at Jongseong and that's make Jongseong laughed so loud.
