"This is a bonding experience for us as siblings! And, uh, as mates too?" Kino held out a sleek oblong object to Akira. She took it, turning it over in her hands. "Is this a phone? I've never seen one like this before."
Kino nodded. "This is what they use in the modern world nowadays. Everyone has it! You can send messages, take photos, buy stuff online, play games..." Akira tuned out his rambling, observing the way his face changed as he talked about things he was passionate about. While he had originally come for personal interest, she sensed that Kino wasn't that bad of a person.
"Hey. Are you listening? Earth to Akira." His hand in her face came into focus. "This is how you play the game..." The screen lit up, showing the avatar running while collecting points. She idly began playing the game as Kino directed her.
"Swipe up to make the character jump."
"No, not like that!"
"Quickly, press that button to gain the special effect!"
Akira eventually got the hang of it. Kino leaned in beide her to watch her fingers fly across the screen. His hair smelt faintly of shampoo.
"Woah, your technique is pretty strange, but you're gaining points so fast! Is my Imouto-chan a natural?" He waggled his brows. Momentarily distracted, Akira lost the game. The phone screen flashed neon as celebratory fanfare music played. "High score! Well done!" Kino pumped his fists in the air.
An abrupt bang from the wall next door startled Akira. "Shut up! Youre so noisy!" She phone slipped from her hands as plaster dust rained down from the ceiling from Subaru's punch. Akira exclaimed and bent to pick up the dropped phone. Her blood ran cold as she found cracks spiderwebbing across the glass surface. Fearfully, she raised her eyes. Kino's face was unreadable. "You...broke my phone again??"
Akira shrunk back. "I'm sorry..."
Kino pinned her to the bed, looming over her. "I let you off the first time. Now?" He kissed her neck. Akira expected him to bite, but instead, he poked her ribs repeatedly, making her recoil. Giggles bubbled up in her throat. "Stop it!"
Akira wriggled under him, squealing as he attacked her sides with a murderous intensity. "I'll buy you a new phone!" She screamed. "The newest model! And a phonecase and a screen protector! Aaah!" Amidst her yelling, she heard Subaru hit the wall thrice more. He wold barge in and most likely beat them both to a pulp eventually, but Akira didn't mind too much.
