In Remus' point of view
We marauders are really quite stupid sometimes. Thanks to James and Sirius we are all in detention. Peter obviously doesn't care, as long as hes with them. I do though, as I am prefect I have to get a certain level on exams and as we have one tomorrow I can't do some late minute revision!
" What did you actually do to get us in here Padfoot? You didn't quite clarify that as Dumbledore put us in here."
"Well Mooney I think you will find it was Prongs' fault we are here actually, so don't blame me Mr prefect.!" he said this mockingly.
"Actually Padfoot, you are the reason we are in here. If it wasn't for you staring right at Evans' friend then we wouldn't have been caught!" James said this sternly. The last time i heard him talk like that is when Sirius was flirting with Lily Evans. They didn't talk for at least a few days. They are like an old married couple, seriously they never stop bickering! By this point Sirius was in mid sentence but he stopped as he heard McGonagall coming near the door.
"Shut up!" cried Peter.
Though I don't understand how he got here as he was told it was optional for him to come. By this time Sirius and James looked rather ashamed, the reason why? Well obviously it was because they had realised Snape walking in, from the door at the back of the class.
"What have you done this time then?" Snape said this like he didn't really care. He sat down.
"We-" Peter began to talk but was interrupted by James.
"Peter, he doesn't have to know and I expect he doesn't care."
"True." Snape replied.
"Hey, Mr Prefect Lupin! You gonna talk or just sit there day dreaming about you next date with Sirius?" James said this loudly.
"Hey!" Sirius made a distressed face. " I asked that you kept that a secrete Remus!" he was mocking a girls voice as he said this.
"Hey, I told him nothing!" I was rather amused by this. "Siriusly? Sirius, I trusted you!" The boys were laughing now. I looked back to see Snape sat there, I could have sworn I saw him smile, but I didn't care if he did.
"Darling, how could you?" Sirius looked more constipated than distressed now. "Aren't our trips to the broom cupboard worth it?" The boys where wetting themselves by now.
"Well Sirius, I saw the way you looked at James. I can't really compete with that."
Peter is the type of person who laughs at anything James or Sirius says, very rarely because of me. Snape was still sat there. We only had a few minutes left of this detention, we had like 4 more, because of James and Sirius. I did't even know why I was there!
McGonagall came in and said "Mr Potter, Mr Black, Mr Pettigrew and Mr Lupin, you can leave. Mr Snape, Dumbledore will be down in a few minutes."
We all got up and walked towards the door. I quickly glanced at McGonagall, as she had told me about some revision classes I could attend and of course they were tonight.
"Hey, what were we in there for? Tell me!" I demanded.
"Well, we were in the restricted area of the library last night and well... SIRIUS dropped the gas torch, and well.... a little of the library went up in the flames."
"What? Really? Wait how come I was involved?"
"Well..." Sirius started. "Well, I said you said we could be there."
"WHAT?!" I shouted this. Mind you it is 9 O'Clock and most people are in their dorms. "Really? You realise that this goes down as my fault. Jesus you guys, I can't believe you." We had stopped in the corridor just outside of the Great Hall, people where obviously still awake as we had now developed a crowd. "You really done that? Well I am surprised you aren't expelled!" There were now students whispering, I very rarely loose my temper outside of my dorm. "One second, our parents are gonna hear about this, you know I am gonna blame you guys. If I expelled I will kill the both of you."
Sirius walked towards me and got close to my face and said "Whats the matter Mooney, is it you time already?" He got closer "You just can't have any fun can you! Remus the perfect prefect, every teachers favorite student. Mr I never get detentions, only I do get them when my friends have fun."
"You really think that is about you having fun?" This was not a question to be answered. "You have the wrong kind of fun! Your fun isn't a laugh with your mates or a trip down to Hogsmeade, you have to burn the library down or prank Slytherins or seriously injure someone. You have taken nearly every girl into that bloody broom cupboard and you then send them walking, I am truly surprised you haven't got Evans in there yet." I knew what I said had just brought James into this. He was obviously gonna side with Sirius and then Peter was as well.
"Lupin, oh Mr Lupin, we obviously needn't bring me into this, as you are well aware of my association with Evans isn't to be discussed outside our dorm."
"Yea Lupin." This was Peter, deciding to go to the apparent winning side.
"Hey, Pettigrew stay out of this."
"Don't talk to Peter like that Lupin."
"Oh so is this pick on Lupin day? Because if it is somebody should tell me."
"Oh please, Lupin your not gonna win this, you never do, James and Sirius will, like always." Peter said this with a harsh tone. I was rather taken back. "Don't feel sorry for yourself, no one else does."
"That's it. Peter crossed the line from OK I will apologise to this it it. The end of an era, no more Mooney, I am out. Don't count me as a marauder, obviously because I NEVER win, I will be out of our, oh sorry, YOUR dorm by tomorrow, there is a spare one, oh and as for the other thing, no worries I can cope by myself." They looked taken back, I had held this in for a while since Peter was being rather dickish.
"Lupin, look-"
"That's it, he said it, you all meant it, I was clearly the thorn in your roses."
"Hey, Mooney, don't listen to him."
"Just leave it, seriously." I turned and left. It was very rare we fought like this, but oh no I wasn't going back easily.
"Peter Why you say?" I heard James and Sirius say this in unison, their tone was like his, harsh and meaningful.
