known notoriously as an unfriendly member of the varsity girls' soccer team, tatum young hasn't had the best luck with the whole "buddy buddy" thing that most associate with sports. not that she's tried, of course. any questions, comments, or concerns thrown her way are at most met with a simple grunt and a side-eyed glare, if acknowledgment is even achieved. she's certainly not well-loved, but is athletically talented enough that leaving her to her own devices typically doesn't negatively affect the team as a whole. the only bond that tatum shares with the yellowjackets lies within the ball passed between their feet.

as the incredibly charismatic and well-respected captian of wiskayok high's girls' soccer team, jackie taylor has a significant reputation to uphold. she loves her team and everyone on it, aside from tatum, who jackie is convinced is dead-set on making everyone miserable with her doom and gloom attitude and impertinence.
