We crossed the tumultuous river, but lost two.
We came across an oxen herd, then we lost a few

The Carriage slowed down, cold amongst the snow.

Then down yonder spot the Wendigo.

Teeth gnashing, claws had rendered flesh.
Blame the wild
Nature claims the rest.

All the while my poor carriage waits.

My stomach it hurts, know not what I've done, that cold wendigo.

But my caravan, no more hungry I am, but where did they go?

Here I awoke, cold yet stomach warm
Where did my meal come from?

Vision blurred, all are dead, wife, daughter and son.

I leave this place to live my days out in the cold.
At least then or if I pass very Gray and old.

The wendigo came to the carriage, but not as I had foreseen
I thought him as a wild spirit
Not what I had was keen
To.

Blurred and bashed, harmed and rashes, my family lied in droves
Then I realized, cold and hungry, I was the wendigo.
