The Beauty's Revenge

| Chapter 1 |

Screams of terror are heard all around, the metallic smell of blood and smoke hangs heavy in the air, mothers are seen hiding their children or clutching them to their chests. Running through the crowd a young lady no older that fifteen wearing an elegant black embroidered kimono with purple flowers and patterns swirling around her shoulders, sleeves and the bottom of her kimono. Her white and yellow obi (a traditional Japanese sash/belt used by women) stained red from a stomach wound.

The young lady looks around the burning buildings she ran around as a small child before she reached a house on the outskirts of the small village, as soon as the building came into view, she picked up the front of the kimono she was wearing to run towards her small childhood home surrounded by flames.

"Chiyo! Mother! Are you both alright?!" She shouts, her voice cracking midway from all of the panic and worry swirling around in her head.

"Asami Ne-Chan!" A young feminine voice calls out from inside the burning house, "Mother's been injured! S-she isn't responding!" The voice calls out in panic.

"It's alright Chiyo, I'm coming in! Don't panic!" the young lady now known as Asami yells out to the young voice. She completely throws her own safety out the window as soon as she hears her mother and sister were in trouble inside the burning building.

Flames danced gently kissing her soft pale skin, as she made her way towards the burning front door, she threw herself against almost falling with it when it opened.

"Chiyo! Where are the both of you?!" Asami calls out to her little sister. No response was heard in return. Asami felt something bloom in her chest as her eyebrows furrowed in worry, as her heart picked up speed.

"Chiyo! Mother!" Asami calls out worry dripping off her words as she walks into the once dining room, douching bright burning flames, only to come to a sudden stop as her heart shatters.

"Chiyo...Mother..." She softly whispers almost silently, from the scene in front of her. Her beloved little sister and mother cuddling one another, though it's not in joy but in silent acceptance of death, tears streaming down the both of their faces as flames started to slowly engulfed the both of them.

"Chiyo! Mother!" Asami shouts in horror from the scene in front of her, quickly dashing forwards gently grabbing them both from the flames, towards own figure as the wall the both were resting on collapsed from the flames still raging around them. Tears welled up in Asami's eyes as her legs gave out from beneath her, causing her to fall to the ground, still holding her dear Mother and younger sister's bodies.

As tears streamed down the soft skin of her cheek, Asami felt Chiyo move slightly in her arms, not much but enough to signal she was still alive. Asami looked down at her sister to see her barely keeping her eyes open, her breathing short and quick sounding quite painful.

"Chiyo..." Asami quietly calls out, more tears streaming down her face than before.

"Asami Ne-Chan is the best..." Chiyo states slowly in a tired voice, Asami looks at her with deep confusion evident across her face, looking up at her older sister Chiyo smiles gently before she slowly continues on.

"Ne-Chan... thank you for... caring for me... and being my... sister!" Chiyo says getting quieter near the end, while smiling brightly at her older sister, Chiyo slowly closes her eyes.

"Chiyo...Chiyo?" No response. The breath was knocked out of Asami as she chokes out load sobs form her chest holding her sister's body as close to her as she could.

A few seconds passed before load screams sounded outside, louder and closer then the ones from earlier, at the sound of the screams, it dawned on Asami that she was still inside a burning building. Staggering up (nearly falling over) off the ground, holding her sister as if she were still an infant instead of the 9-year-old child she was. Standing as tall as she could looking longing at her mother's body before running through the burning, smoke filled building.
