forgotten; to not be remembered by a certain person or group

^^ Evelyn is in the picture above^^

Evelyn's POV

I was walking in the village square searching for a butcher shop. I kept walking on the rough tiled floor of the sidewalk until I found a butcher shop named "Anotonio's Fine meat and Chicken" I entered and the ring of a bell sounded when I opened the transparent glass door. I swiftly made my way to the display cases full of meats and chickens. '"Ah just what I needed!' I thought. I smiled shyly when a man about my age (18) came in. "Hello and welcome to Antonio's fine meat and chicken how may I help you?" I looked at the display cases remembering what my mother had asked me to purchase. "Could I please have 2 whole chickens and 3 pounds of lamb?" He nodded and began packaging the meats and put them into plastic bags. "Your total will be $45.99" I handed him the money, grabbed the bags of meat, and headed out. I felt guilty for not thanking him for his service but he shouldn't be too mad. I started walking back to my home when an elderly woman with only one eye approached me. " Could I please have a chicken? I am starving and I don't have any money to buy my own food." Just as I was about to hand the lady a chicken I remembered my father's warning.
Flash Back~
"Dad I'm leaving to the village! Do you need anything?"
"No but I must warn you about something. Don't trust anybody and if anyone asks you for anything just ignore them. They are all drug addicts and they are just attention seekers."
"Yes father! Bye"
End of flashback~
I shook myself out of the trance I was in and I kept walking. I heard the lady shouting these words at me, "You will pay for this! you have no idea what it's like to be me! Everyone ignores me and now it's your turn to know how it feels to be forgotten!"
I began to quicken my pace as I darted straight to my home where I new I was safe.

I was setting up the table for the supper my mother was preparing when I heard three loud knocks at the door. It sounded like two metal pots clashing against each other. The sound alarmed us all as our father signaled us to go hide while he figures out what's going on. My mother grabbed my hand and led me to the safe room (which was the linen closet) and we hid until our father gave us the okay signal that its safe to come out. I was scared and I didn't know what was going to happen.
