a/n {wow i havent written actual fandom things in like forever and I start back up with a new fandom I haven't gotten past S5E1 of supernatural yet so no spoilers even though I got lots of them already this oneshots short like only a 800 words}

Sam's third date is a memory he regularly thinks about to this day. The reason for this is a single question that was asked of him: "Were you a mommy's boy or a daddy's boy?"
at first, Sam had been confused by the question. However, his date kindly explained, "When you were younger, were you more attached to your mom or dad? I was definitely closer to my mom." After thinking about it for a moment, Sam replied, "I guess I was closer to my dad."
However, deep down, Sam knew that wasn't entirely true. If he were to replace "dad" with "Bobby" or "attached" with "who trained me," then the answer might be accurate. In reality, Sam's older brother was the person who truly raised him. His brother was always there for him and the only person Sam was genuinely attached to growing up.
During their conversation, Sam's date asked him where he was from. Sam replied, "I moved around a lot as a kid, but I was born in Kansas." To his surprise, his date exclaimed, "Kansas? That's where I'm from too!" Unfortunately, the date ended badly when the girl's boyfriend stormed into the restaurant and threatened Sam. However, that question about his upbringing remained etched in his mind.
Ultimately, Sam realized that he was his brother's boy. His brother had raised him, watched him grow, and even saved him from death. Sam will always be grateful for the love and care his brother showed him, and he will forever consider himself his brother's boy.
