Deucalion's deal

Evelyn walked out of the hotel that she had ended up in the night before her father not letting her go back to sleep in the warehouse, but she didn't agree to go to the apartment where he and Allison were living either. "Little fae," she heard a man's voice call behind her. Evelyn froze at the sound.

"Deucalion," she said, straightening up and turning to face the alpha werewolf. She knew Deucalion would kill her here without a second thought, and there was little Evelyn could do to defend herself with him already so close and Kali right next to him.

"You really know how to put a kink in my plan," Deucalion said.

"Well, that's what I'm here for," Evelyn said innocently.

"Considering I'm rather fond of you, I have a deal to propose."

"And what is that?" Evelyn asked cautiously.

"You stay out of this fight, and I'll stay away from your sister," Deucalion said.

"You dare hurt her," Evelyn growled, stepping forward causing Kali to flick her claws out.

"I won't not if you stay out of this fight. If you decide to help the others, then I can't promise anything." Evelyn stood there, knowing that if she disagreed, then it would be her sister's body she would be finding next, something she wasn't sure she would survive. Allison was the one person who had always loved her even when she knew everything, not caring that they were only half-sisters. Evelyn knew that losing Allison would break her, and Deucalion knew it, too. "I'll do it," Evelyn said. "I'll stay out of it. I won't help, but if my sister is so much as scratched, I will come after you."

"You wouldn't win that fight," Kali snarled.

"Then why is Deucalion making a deal with me?" Evelyn asked. "If I couldn't fight you, then what incentive does he have?" Kali snarled.

"Now girls," Deucalion said, "play nice, and no one gets hurt."

"She's not part of this, Deucalion," Evelyn said.

"No?" Deucalion asked. "Even if she isn't, you are, and so is Scott. You want me to stay away from her, then stay away." The alpha turned, walking away. "And that includes Cora," he called over his shoulder. Leaving Evelyn standing there alone and afraid, she couldn't get involved without hurting Allison, and she couldn't stay out of it without leaving Cora behind, something that she had sworn never to do, both to the young werewolf and to someone she once loved. This was the issue with coming back to Beacon Hills. She was intertwined in the supernatural wars that Allison and her friends couldn't imagine, with connections on each side. Evelyn knew how to play the game, but Beacon Hills was complicated. This town brought emotions into the mix: family, things Evelyn had left behind years ago, things she wasn't willing to lose when there was a slight chance that she could have them back.
